How to hydroplane on the track.

Car was fine, just a bits of grass everywhere. Needless to say 75-80 was way too fast. Rain started to come down pretty bad and eventually they had to close the track because of the lakes forming.

Good job on keeping the steering wheel straight when you went on the grass.

I think it was more the dirt path and a bit of luck more then anything that saved me.

Wow! Glad you kept it away from anything solid! I just did a track day in the wet and had a few "moments" myself although not like that one. It happens so fast. Nice job! :tiphat:

Your grip on the wheel is too tight. You over-corrected unnecessarily. We have plenty of caster on these cars; just ride it out.

I was at the VIR 24 hour last weekend racing through the weather. This is what it looked like in the dark (view from another car).

What tires were you using?

Your absolutely right, I need to be a bit more calm and controlled. Practice practice, practice.

Great in the dry. Terrible when wet.

Was the traction control on or off when it was raining?
