Thanks man! Trying to prove to people that this platform can compete with cars way out of its league with the right driver. :happydance:

I think we have the same goal. I've heard too many people say the 370z is too heavy and not competitive enough in class 2 and class 1 of Nissan Challenge or even at GridLife or GTA.

Heard too many times that the Z33 is the better car and I think the few of us out there running the Z34 are proving those nay sayers wrong.

Had to make a lil change to the platform.

Just basic bolt ons. My Z makes less than 330whp. Just wait until I slap a supercharger on it ;)

Nice, What are your temps after a lot of laps?

I am scheduled for 10/18-19 with NASANE at Thunderbolt, maybe I'll see you there.

Your car pretty different from mine power wise but you can find some more time braking later on T1 for sure, your on the brakes before even the 5 marker, im on it at the 4. Use more of the curbing (apex and exit) on T1. T2 requires faith, a late apex (using the uphill to slow you) and using all the apex curbing will allow you to take it faster and be on the power sooner if you going straight on the apex/hill crest then resume the exit of the turn once the cars suspension settles. Its difficult but when you get it just right its amazing. Use all of T3 apex 90~93mph apex with 71Rs. It sounds like you let off going up the hill into T4, I don't think you have too. The rest looks good, I go a little more out at the exit of T8/Start of T9 but I don't think there is a right way T9&10.

I have my oil temps totally under control using setrab 25row oil cooler mounted inside left side fender. I have a spal fan and direct air duct from underneath. I don’t think it went past 230-240F. The coolant temp is been giving me trouble. After 2 hot laps my temps would go up to 230F so had to back off. I’ve opened up my front nismo bumper and built air dam in front my intercooler to direct all incoming air towards intercooler/radiator. After this last track day I noticed huge improvement with it. 20min session needed one slower pace lap towards end of the session to cool down the temps and then finishing off with one or 2 hot laps. With this cooling mod and stoptech bbk, 80F ambient temp, this one was one of my most enjoyable track day i think I ever had. I have 2 day event with TrackXperienZ following week so possibly I’ll sign up for one day with nasa.
Here’s the picture of my air dam.

Thanks! I have an air dam ready to go for the oil cooler, mounted in front of the radiator, but I think I will have to relocate it to get my oil temps under control and eventually build an air damn for the radiator too. Glad you had a good time, I went with TrackXperienZ once last year, it was nice but for me I didn't like the people attending so much, $100k+ cars in advanced group with no clue how to drive in the rain.

Thank you for the inputs. Really appreciate. It was my first time out with the re71r on this track but I did feel I could take more speed through some turns. Turn 12 especially. Just need to grow bigger pair and trust the car and tires little more. Braking as well first time out with stoptech bbk and also felt I could brake later. The only reason I need to lift on the hill is because I’m on top of the 4th gear and rear tires brake loose when the rear unloads. It scared the crap out of me during morning session. I think more downforce would fix that. Octopus is tricky, felt the most grip was by the curbs that particular day. Other drivers felt the same. I think it’s possible to get to 1:30s

2011 Nismo#91 08-30-2019 11:32 AM

Turn 12 is the only turn that scares me still. Its very fast, semi blind, and has an inside wall right there. It should be fine but I'm not racing and I'd be much happier keeping my car in one piece then 0.5s better lap time. More downforce and slicks I would be comfortable enough that I won't spin and get into the inside wall but not with stock aero and street rubber.

Not sure why people think 230 F is excessive coolant temp for a VQ on the track. It's normal.

What would you say it is the safe coolant temp? I could never find any good info.
