Clutch over heating?

Went out for an open run night Friday. After about the 5 run clutch was smelling horrible and kept slipping. I don't think I was riding it, but was defiantly holding it at about 3.5k to launch. Turn around was pretty quick, would line right back up after a run. If you guys have any suggestions on a better way to launch would love to hear it. Was just getting the car figured out when the clutch got to hot and would just spin

I don't really do drag racing but from what I read here most people that do launch at 2.6~2.7k for stock NA. At 3.5k your just spinning your wheels or as you noticed, your clutch.

:iagree:

If you smell clutch, that's too much slip ... try lower RPMs at launch.

if this is OEM clutch then yea, its probably going to slip all the time now, don't asking me how i know.
