WTAC 2016 Eastern Creek Australia New Record 1.22.19s

Hey folks thought some lead foot action would be entertaining - not sure if this is this the right place to put this if not just move it :tiphat:

Anyway we had the WTAC recently here in Sydney with a local team MCA suspension taking out the win (they also make killer coilovers for the Z -many people swap their KW V3's for the Red's and Gold and never look back)
MCA Suspension

Their car is a S13 Silvia with a billet block from Mazworx 2.3L Garret Turbo 900hp @ 40psi i think, car ran a 1.22.19
Mazworx - Mazworx SR20 Billet Aluminum Prepped Block #30200
Nico Rosberg holds the lap record @ 1.19 in an A1 GP open wheeler, MCA S13 beat under Suzuki Scorch racing S15 by over a second! and they run 52s @ Tsukuba.

The Lyfe Motorsport R35 GTR's best @ Eastern Creek has been a 1.32s, HKS R35 1.30s - so 1.22.19 yeah this Silvia boogies

Speaking of MCA and 370s they put a VQ56DE V8 in one
V8 370Z DRIFT BUILD | Performance Garage

then put the VQ37VHR in an 86! Nuts:yum:

I wouldn't read into the Lyfe Motorsports number.....the motor went boom in the first session last year and they used a stock engine after that.

That is the "nicest" looking of the pro class cars to drive. It astounds me how hateful most of the other cars look to drive (cough tilton evo).

Yeah sucks to come out and have your motor pop -but the HKS put in a 1.30s still 8s off the Hammerhead S13.

Whats are the fastest cars stateside?

Lyfe recently beat the HKS GTR stateside. I think they are still having motor issues but its getting faster since it was at WTAC last.

Cool article - so is LYFE the fastest car stateside?

Interesting the different aerodynamic philosophies HKS and LYFE came up with for the R35.

Tough to say....since the cars stateside can't get the soft Advan tires that are the spec tire for WTAC. Most run on slicks here once in unlimited.

I have to admit it makes no sense at all to me to have these cars on those tires. They are ludicrously expensive, have no life (cycle out instantly), etc. Put the damn cars on slicks and lets stop handicapping them. I can't understand putting group C downforce, 1000hp and then putting them on glorified street tires.

Like 03 said, it's hard to know who the fastest in the states is. There's no direct comparison. For AWD, Lyfe is the fastest or if no they are top three. There were some fast FWD and RWD at GTA this year as well. Then there's NASA and SCCA Time Trials which I am not up to date on.

I think GST has beaten them pretty much every time they are on site with Lyfe....

Even still, and on slicks, they are slower than GTD IMSA Cars....so probably 3-4s off the fastest WTAC cars.

Motoiq did a piece on that HKS GTR, same observation.

IMHO....in Asia, that type of aero just doesn't apply to the bread and butter customers that want the tuner's service. In general, the tuners in Asia are more interested in making things with more resemblance to street/amateur use. Fact is the streets are the race tracks for many Asian countries.

Where I was raised, looking at the speed and pavement condition, there's no use for aero enhancement, let alone one-off parts CF parts that scream attention to police or get stolen.
