I ran a 8.404 which is my best time so far. I've yet to get retuned after the Z1 intake manifold install. Attachment 117247

That's good, air temp plays a big role.
This is my slip from 4/15 with K&N drop ins only.http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...ca20183b5d.png

Nice run JC. Today ended up at 80* I've been running 5.5 in 95* all day long. I spin through 2nd on every run. I'm hoping to run on a full prep track soon so see what it will do.

jameZ_10 10-09-2016 07:16 PM

YzGyz. You've done a lot to your car!

Jamez 10,,,you gotta heat up those street tires/they will get sticky.
Only problem with the non sport a/t7sp...they come with open diffs...& during the burnout-one wheel can spin faster than the other;causing a clicking noise by the spider gears.
Only made 3 passes & now i have a Quaife atb helical locker...works really well.
Now i just have to get back to the track...lol

Attachment 117248I dialed in at a 8.50 because I thought the 8.40 was a fluke. I broke out in the 3rd round with a 8.485

My 7ATis the coupe with the sport pkg. I think I have LSD.

I would heat the street tires up but they are new and expensive as heck. Lol

Love it, wish we had a track nearby.

jameZ_10 10-10-2016 05:18 PM

Could the 8.40 suggest a possible high 12 1/4?

jchammond 10-10-2016 07:30 PM

Yes,if you hook up,,,,gotta heat those tires/see my 60' time-no spinning at all. With our current weather conditions & with good traction; I'd say I'm closer to mid 12's now

YzGyz 10-13-2016 07:50 PM

You don't heat up street tires.. They get sloppy and oily when heated up. At most you would spin it really fast to scrub junk off it but that's it. Race tires like slicks, 2ply or drag radials need to heat to get sticky. But still, you guys are fast. I'd have a hard time winning in the 1/8 against you guys. I thin my 1 run was all luck or messed up timer. But, i'll still claim it.. lol

When you have no option but to drive through the water trap to stage; you'd better heat them up....& yes/they will get sticky & bite better.....my tires cold & dry will spin through 1st 2nd & into 3rd before biting/ but with a 1-2nd burnout,I can get her to hook.
Depends on the rubber compound of the tire/// but getout & touch your tires after a burnout & most tracks put down a VHT type adhesive to help.....so I would have to argue that one.
I agree that you can overspin one/ but my past history has helped more than hurt.
