This track yes ? Skip to 1.44 looks pretty downhill to me . Might explain it as my local track rises 6.5 ft start to finish. Must be some reason you are pulling more mph in the second 1/8th

I've trapped 110 at another local track. I'm sure both aren't downhill lol.

I trapped 115mph running 12.8

You should be at least around 110 doing a 12.8, otherwise you're not running a 12.8

My 60' was 1.9 on those runs, stock OEM sport tires with 5k miles on em. I did warm em up and do few burnouts.

Trap speed has nothing to do with time! Lol

Well, I wouldn't say nothing....I mean, it varies, especially between different cars. But if you compare between Z's trap speed could be a rough indication of power.

With 600+ hp you should be able to run 10's uphill lol.

the track isn't downhill.

all tracks I've been to have a rise at the end to promote braking/slowing of the cars

looks like I need to go back down to Maryland because there's no way 35~ less hp and stock rubber beat my best time.

Yeah man this is the best time to go. I'm hoping they don't close the tracks early this year so I can go modded.

Boost and 1/4 mile is hard!! I get major bog due to the fact that I can't ride and feather the clutch or smoke the tires so I always get a poop launch. The end 1/2 way down the track is where i start to grip and recover some lost time.

Trust me, you are doing really good in the 1/4 mile. Like I said, you will beat me most of the time.

Street tires, + hard to ride clutch + lots of hp/tq = hard to run from the dig.

my best to date with around 55passes at the 1/4 and 30 at the 1/8 mile.

(photobucket is acting stupid and not letting me link it)
R/T... .329
60'....2.219
330...5.855
1/8...8.677
ET... 12.997

MPH 116.72

My fasted trap speed to date was 124 in the 1/4 mile. That was a 13.2xx second run. I have no doubt the 370 can get good times if I can trap that high. A good launch to get up to speeds fast will = good times. I jest need to get rid of the dumb wheel hop and buy me a RJM pedal in hope of being like the OP cuz he is doing something if not everything right off the line.

I just want to come down, set a sub-12.80, and go to the bar with my family down there.

Sounds like it's time to ditch those street tires and get you some slicks. With some practice you should be able to pull some 1.6 60's. You'd be running high to mid 11's easy.

Curious, whats your best time?

And what are your whp/tq numbers? Also whats the weight of your Z?

Btw, I'm a complete amateur at 1/4 still, but I think my 60' are quite good and I was happy with my ET for 1st try. I found best way to launch my Z is to feather clutch at top and come on progressively on the gas. Launching from higher RPM or dumping clutch always made my car bog.

The stock sport rubber actually surprised me with grip ability, it hooked up well even when dumping clutch at 4k and would make the car bog.

I know my Z can run faster, considering I can now shift at 7700 and power maxes out between 7200-7500rpm. I shifted at 7500 for my last runs. So I really want to go again.

304whp/245tq and 3250lbs with 7700 redline should be able to get 12.5 fairly easy - that's my next goal for the track.
