2015: V8SuperCar @ Bathurst

Practise and quali today ...

Car #6 has huge hit and driver taken to hospital with broken femur and wrist.

No word on status of flag marshal's in the bunker taken out by the rear of the car ...... that is a little bit ominous ...

Incident here:

Hoping marshal's are OK

EDIT: One Marshal taken to hospital for observation

Once he hit the wall. He was nothing more then a pinball the rest of the way. Bouncing off the other walls.

Yup ... Been an interesting day with the support categories as well.

1000kms for the main game tomorrow - beer fridge stocked and I have sole possession of the TV remote ...

So....you got the remote under lock and key.

damn! looks like if a marshaller was hit, it was from stand debris, and not a car part, so hopefully he is ok.

One flag-marshal admitted for observation and released this morning, Chaz Mostert (driver of car #6) had a rod inserted into his femur to hold the bones aligned and a plate in his left wrist .. will be released in a few days but he will be out for the rest of the season.

There was a second incident in one of the support categories ("Aussie" racing cars which are 5/8 sized replica's of a SuperCar with a 1300cc motorcycle engine which was more serious .. driver hospitalised with punctured lung and multiple rib-fractures ... that guy was very lucky.

Wow!

Those cars are piles of garbage now, but the safety equipment did 100 percent of its job.

Fire scares the hell out of me. :(
