What do you guys use for track mapping, GPS, Lap timing stuff?

We work pretty closely with MoTec day in and day out and they have some AWESOME products that I think a few of you would love to have.

If there is some interest Id love to answer any questions, or maybe set up a group buy of some sort? We have a pretty extensive knowledge base on these units so please dont hesitate to ask any questions, and if you would like to buy one know that we are not a "sell and disappear" type vendor. We can walk you through any questions/issues you may have.

With that being said, here is one of my favorites:

MoTec C125 Race logging kit:

The C125 Race Logging Kit is a cost-effective, plug-in display and data logging solution based on our new full color C125 Display Logger. Offering professional level features at a club level price, the kit is quick and easy to connect, requiring no previous experience with MoTeC systems. Each component simply plugs into the professionally wired and terminated loom, which comes complete with a handy plug-in power adaptor. The kit is expandable and can be adapted to suit various applications.

The C125 Race Logging Kit includes: ·
C125 Display Logger ·
10 Hz GPS ·
Two buttons, pre-wired ·
Professional quality plug-in loom, terminated and labelled, with plug-in power adaptor ·
Ethernet Cable

C125 Race Logging Kit Options - see Accessories for more details: ·
-The C125 will connect directly to the factory ECU of many late model vehicles using the optional plug-in OBD-II adaptor, providing access to important engine data.

-Customers with MoTeC ECUs can connect to the C125 with our plug-in CAN or RS232 adaptors. Some other aftermarket ECUs may also connect with these looms.

- Logging can be added to the C125 at any time, allowing for comprehensive data analysis in MoTeC's i2 software. This option is conveniently enabled using a password activation. ·

-For those wishing to expand their C125 Race Kit further, an I/O upgrade will activate additional inputs and outputs for greater functionality. A pre-wired, terminated I/O Loom is available, or customers can use their own.

The harness bar, and a quality 4 point bar will not share any mounting points sadly. IM sure it could be done, but not something I would feel safe selling to people going on track.

If anyone is local, or willing to ship their car out im sure we could build a bolt in 4 point. We normally do full weld in, but, if the market is there we would jig one. The issue is I cant devote 70-100 hours of my fabrication guys time to it right now unless there is a paying customer with a car in here sadly, we are just to booked up for that.

If you don't get anyone else I'd be happy to guinea pig for you early next year.

Im going to start doing some little updates from around the shop, figure people always like an inside look.

Feel free to keep posting product ideas! As the build season starts to roll in we are always looking for more work haha.

This last weekend the guys where down at Texas Motor Speedway for FD, weekend did not end perfectly but given the circumstance a 3rd place is nothing to hang your head at.

We ended up getting taken out by a mechanical failure sadly, Chris came over the radio right before lining up against Yokoi and told us his clutch had been acting up. We knew there was nothing we could do about it at the time but the culprit was found today. An ongoing flywheel issue led to a broken input shaft which then led to destroyed clutch discs. The car would stall if not accelerating which is why the restart and the bump in turn 1 when the car stalled on a handbrake pull. Hate to get taken out by something out of our control but hey, that's racing!

Keep in mind this clutch sees the raw end of 1000hp and a heavy right foot so things happen haha.

If I can get say 5-10 people down for a group buy I bet I could make these happen at a reasonable price.

Not sure if this has been asked but, but any chance you guys are going to do dry carbon, or is it all wet carbon?

thanks

Depends on the exact part, some we are able to get made in Dry. What are you looking for?

You need to do a vented dry carbon hood.

I'd be in for a reasonable priced cf roof insert and vented hood in wet. I love the look of the varis hood but worry it won't vent enough for a FI car.

andy_meng1024 09-14-2015 08:54 PM

Carbon fiber roof would be awesome, even the FRP roof was 25lb less than stock from Shamu's thread. I'd be in either CF or FRP depends on the price.
