Transition to DOT R compound issues?

For my next set of tires for my track rims (18x10 Forgestar F14s) I was thinking of going to a stickier compound, track only tire. Should I be concerned about over stressing my OEM sport calipers or is there anything else to be worried about? Additional front nose dive under braking and possible scraping of my stillen front end (I know Mike had issues with that)? I already use the XP10/8 split for pads and have titanium backing plates up front to limit heat transfer as well as the front ducting.

Current suspension setup is Nismo springs/shocks. Front Eibach ARB and rear Whiteline ARB. SPL endinks all around, SPL FUCAs, SPL rear toe arms.

Thanks

I have been running R-Specs for a long time and I always set bump and rebound on my shocks and add a track alignment specifically for the R-spec tyres.

I want the car sharp so it reacts (points on turn-in and table enough to take a "set" which tolerates power early) with the race rubber on, but make it a bit more lazy for DD so it is not so "darty" which means I take a bit of camber and some toe out for DD duties (if I run the track setup as DD it will destroy DD tyres in less than 1000 kms).

Im in the same boat here just purchased 18 rims and RA1. I really dont have the option to adjust a aggressive track alignment then go back to a street alignment so I have to find a happy medium.

Ill be going from -2 to -3 camber on front and staying at zeo toe. For the rear im undecided if more than - 1.8 camber makes a big difference in cornering or if I should go more than that. I will be going to zero toe in the rear from a just under stock spec toe in.

I know we have numerous what is your alignment threads but, for those that do run track and either daily drive or transition to street tires what are your thoughts and or specs?

Thanks for the tips BGTV8.

Rangerz, I run -2/0 setup up front and -1.8/-.15 in the rear, seems good for dual purpose. I will be interested to hear how a the -3 FCamber and 0 RToe works out. Esp if the lack of rear toe in will affect your braking or straight line stability.

You might want to just add some front caster? I had mine set to 5.5 deg. OEM is 5 I believe.

Edit: just looked up oem specs, looks like caster is normally 5.17 so I might have mine bumped up to at least 6. Also think I will try out less rear toe in, maybe .1 ish

This thread is getting way off topic though.

the only issue I had switching between street and R comps was brake pads. When I scraped the front end, it was because I was really low and I was running very short tires. (dont remember the size). I run XP12s normally, and they are good for R compounds and AD08s, but when I ran other street tires, I had to go down to hawk blues. the carbotechs just engaged abs way too quickly. 10/8 may work, but depending on what tires you get, with the stock brakes you may want 12/10s I would try your current setup first though.

Thanks, was hoping you would chime in Mike.
