Performance issues since server move/upgrade

So I am a little surprised that there isn't another thread for this yet.. but since the server change made earlier this month, it's normal for me to wait upwards of 15-20 seconds for pages to load.

Occasionally it will simply time out, a standard HTTP timeout. Other times I'll get a 5xx error with a DB timeout indicated.

Any idea what is going on? Performance was always great prior to the move, now...it's becoming worse, day by day, if I had to guess.

I been getting this a bit every day. Most of the time it is great, but the odd time it will hang. If I leave it for a minute or so then hit refresh it will come back to life and usually be fine.

I've been getting this as well. On multiple computers with different connections and using different browsers, so it's not a singularly distinctive issue.

I figured we were still in the "transition phase" but based on the readings, the whole move has already happened?

I'm getting all of thee above.:shakes head:

I'm getting lots of database errors. Sometimes I can just refresh and other times it takes a while

Thank you for reporting. Is there a specific time or place (computer) when these DB errors occur? or maybe when you're at work but not at home etc?

The server was checked for performance specs I think two weeks ago and it came out perfect. No extra load at all. However, I'm in the process of tweaking some options to reduce the load even more (slightly). But the new server is just as good if not, faster than the previous server. So I'm not sure why there's DB errors.

Let me know. Thanks :hello:

I'll tell you, I'm not getting more exactly, but I'm confused as to when the forum actually updates or whatever when there should be a closure.
(I know it's advertised somewhere) but I feel that lost times it isn't down at those times and I get DB at other random times, so I think ok, I guess it's going through an update or maintanence or whatever... I'll come back later

AK, I'll try and make a note of the next time I see issues so that you can check logs or whatever.

The issues happened to me irrespective of where I was at the time. At home, at work, on my phone, it didn't matter.

In the last 24-48, it seems like it's a lot snappier though. If you've made any changes, it may have resolved itself.

Just now, took 3 minutes to load my user control panel.

No error, just took that long to load.

I wasn't sure whether to blame the mil network or the servers. Sometimes my pm's won't work, reps will hang, and posts refuse to post. I also get the random hangs.

I second that^^

I only remember one DB error but pages can take a long time to load. I haven't noticed any pattern as to when the slowdowns occur but that's not something I would make a note of normally. Site seems OK at the moment.
