Thought about paper tags in for sale section

I've always wondered this, and I dunno if anyone else has, but ya ever notice when people tag their username and date in front of whatever they're selling, it's typically on a flat surface of paper. In my mind, this would be the easiest thing to photoshop; a flat surface, typically facing near straight on to the camera. Thoughts?

I agree with you but I suppose everyone trusts that sellers aren't going to rip you off if they have some sort of reputation on the forum...

If there's a better way to go about it I'm all for it.

Maybe the website can implement an iTrader system where people can leave feedback (positive or negative) based on their experience with the transaction.

I have that on the other forum I frequent and it seems to be (for the most part) fairly effective.

i've brought that up before and apparently it would be very costly to implement. my thoughts are just on that tag alone, because it seems like once an image with a username tag is brought to light, buyers are content with that alone. however, i've seen brand new users with a tag that i've stopped and thought, that could of easily been photoshopped, and yet potential buyers seem confident in this process. not trying to stir the pot or anything. just thought i'd bring this to light. seen some rip offs occur lately.

It is easy to photoshop... infact you see these things all over the web that are photoshopped but it is still kinda better than nothing... we could get really creative and ask sellers to take a picture of the item next to a local news paper (to prove location and date the picture was taken) but I think that is a bit much.

Well hell, I'd say something as simple as wrinkling the paper would make it hell to Photoshop. Small steps in my mind but worthy returns to make it hard to Photoshop.
