pic upload error

Every time I try to post a pic I have taken from my phone, i get an error saying it is to large. I even compressed the pic, and still the same thing. Suggestions?

If I'm reading the error message correctly, your image file is approximately 48MB. Try converting to a JPG with reduced depth and/or increased compression.

That is the problem, it is only 1 MB compressed and 4 MB uncompressed. All of my pictures are about the same.

I gave up and was lazy so I just uploaded the originals to imgur then posted the link back here

There are file size limits for various file types. When you click 'Manage Attachments' there is a chart provided for reference. Even with JPG files you are limited to 781.3 KB. See attached image.
