Upgrade vBulletin forum software?

This version of vBulletin is oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooold.

Any plans to update to vBullletin4 or 5?

Bump. Will this ever be addressed?

I am starting to wonder... new users on some occasions are taking months for forum approval. New premiums are taking many more months on some occasion just to get stickers. Forum software may never get upgraded?

I love this community, is there any plan of improvement here? Or are we planning to let it die on the vine?

I don't see any major changes on the horizon.

The old software doesn't really bother me - other than the search, it works well for me. It would be nice to have updated software with higher security (if the forumware is 2 major releases old, it probably has some leaks).

It does bother me to see poor "customer service" - that could very well affect the site. It appears to me that there are not enough admins and/or mods to handle approvals, subscriptions, stickers, etc.

Did you notice that HTTPS has disappeared, too? Not good for a site that requires login.

In spite of the problems, I still think this is one of the top 370Z-related sites. Lots of good people on here.

I agree with everything for the most part... new software would be nice though. The other forum I am currently following is rdforum.org and they are currently down to upgrade software - prompted me to think of this. They were already running fairly modern version of vbulletin (compared to here anyway) and its much nicer and slicker.

The customer service part to me is also the more troubling thing. Also vendors be crazy.. vendors be runnin' wild.

This site is still my favorite and I spend a ton of time here. Just worried it will degrade without maintenance. I plan to keep my Z forever so I hope this community can last a while.

I agree. This site should be updated. I understand it may not be a huge priority at the moment to the administrators but to let this great site go in the direction its heading without at least trying to improve a few things here and there would be quite a shame and a waste.

It's also not a very difficult process, time consuming if anything but fairly easy to do. I would love to see this site improve.

Considering I started this thread nearly a year ago with no peep from Trips or AK on the subject combined with new users taking weeks for approval, I am guessing that this community I love so much will just slowly die on the vine without anyone committed to maintaining it. It sucks - I plan to keep my 370z forever, and this site will likely fall apart in the relatively short term.

:shakes head:

It's possible they haven't seen the post or they may have chosen to ignore it. I would suggest sending a PM directly and link them to it. Hopefully they are open to constructive criticism. Im surprised this thread has not gotten a lot more discussion.

Upgrading to a current version of vbulletin does incur a cost. As does migrating to something more modern like Discourse.

I do agree on the absence of moderators. Our platform is now in reach of a larger audience and there will most likely be an influx of new people who are interested in learning all they can on the Z.

It doesn't bother me at all and many get by. I see it as following Nissan's footsteps with the Z.
