Ok guys going to the track tomorrow! Any last minute stragglers? Anyone who wants or needs to get in touch with me send me a PM and I'll send you my cell #. I am getting antsy! :driving:

Planning to be there. My girlfriend is coming with us too :)

Sounds good, really glad you are going to make, hoping to see what you can do with your mods.
Need to take out some of the stuff in my car before I go.

Ran about what I expected which wasnt impressive at all but will be much better next time. I dont think any of us got really good traction I pulled a 13.7 something while sleeping at the light with a .8 reaction time and spinning the tires a bit.

what were the runs for the z? also, sleeping at the light doesnt effect your ET;)

theDreamer 09-22-2009 01:11 PM

I ran a 14.3, basically stock
Wstar ran around a 13.7 (maybe less) with his bolt ons

Excuses, track was not the best prepped, and a bit of a hot night. After two runs I was already in the 240 oil temp range. Popped the hood and could feel the heat coming off the engine and felt like I could grill some steaks.

It was a fun night, first time ever for me on a 1/4 mile track so I had the normal problems, a bit slow reaction, decent 60ft, ok launches, etc.

I know but it shows how terribly I was driving

Hell my first run was a 14.2 because I left the traction control on and I felt the damn car defuel atleast 3 times :icon14:

There are several mustangs with the same mods as mine running in the 12.8-9 area, so that is what I am shooting with some more practice, better track prep and better racing weather I hope to get close and or make it! My brother ran a 13.3 has the same mods and tune as me and had traction problems all night with MT drag radials (we did notice they were set to 35psi after his 3rd run) Man we were a bunch of noobs out there! But had a great time and that's what matters most

Yeah I couldn't launch the car for anything out there that night, but it was fun. I had some ridiculous time from a redlight incident (I redlighted and then sat there dumbfounded and waiting for the tree to count down anyways), and my "good" run was 13.7. I was burning rubber through most of first gear on the 13.7 run, sadly. I just couldn't get everything just right to get 1st gear hooked up properly at that track that night.
