Always good to have a fireman around!!! I have a few pics of the aftermath, my car was dusted!! Lucky some good guys were around to put it out right when it flared up.

When I was working at EG I always kept a fire extinguisher next to the dyno.

Seriously, Professionally speaking, find a "BC" class extinguisher. "BC" type is meant for fuel based fires. An "ABC" is more for under your kitchen sink/household extinguisher. I'd also recommend at least a 10 pound extinguisher near the dyno.

Yea, I think I have an ABC in my car, thanks for the info. I'm not sure what was by the Dyno but it was a big boy that put it out instantly, yellow/white looking dust?

hold on I'll tell you... still have some in my eyes!

No problem. Yellow/White sounds like an "ABC." Nothing wrong with them, as you saw, and works great. That powder is the chemical and is designed to remove the oxygen from the fire. You had engine heat and the meth was the fuel. So w/o the oxygen it was extinguished. :tiphat:

Let me know if you, or anyone else, has questions. Fire protection is something we all forget about.
