Houston and driving

Ok, I live on the west side of Houston, HWY 6/529, and went driving this weekend to just add miles and to see if I could find some good places for weekends drives but nothing.

So, those who live in Houston, where do you go for your drives? I went down 290 but it is mostly flat, straight and still has traffic....

I have a pretty cool stretch of highway feeder near me actually, we'll see if this google map works:

Driving fun - Google Maps

In case it doesn't, basically you want to go up and down the beltway 8 feeder road (not the highway itself) between Memorial and Briar Forest, making a U-turn at those two intersections. In between there, the southbound feeder crosses over to the northbound side and back, which make for some interesting driving if you can catch the area at a low-traffic and low-cop time.

Takes a while to get there considering SW houston but, Back roads near Brookshire are FTW...
