tire wear

had my oil changed today at the dealership since i get it free for a year. got my multi point back and checked what they said for tires and i still had 7/32 all around and i believe full is 10/32. Was kinda shocked because i figured the tires would be dead between 12-15k miles from what i see people changing there tires at and i am at 9k. How are yalls tires holding up to these terrible texas roads.

Still have the org set of stock yokohama tires on.

It really depends on your driving habits, but I would say 15-16k for the back tires is on the high side.

Why are just the back tires wearing so badly....? Mine are the same way and I have 15K on the clock.

On my 03 350 it was the fronts, now its the backs on the 370's

Stock alignment in the rear sucks and when you lower the car without all the alignment add ons it gets 100x worse. My stock rears where done at 8k. 16k miles now on NT05's (they start at 7/32) in the rear and they are better than my fronts which are still the stockers, which due to being lowered and running lots of negative camber are bald on the inside edge.

Just my experiences...everyone's will be different depending on alignment and driving habits.

coming from a dropped IS300 i will be ecstatic if i can get 12k miles on the stockers!!

I'm just past 15k last week. I checked the rears and the outside tread looks like it's around 3/32, but the inside/middle tread is a lot better and around 7/32. Should I be worried at all?

xiven 09-08-2010 10:47 AM

I'm nearing 22K on my stock tires and they are still holding up. Guess filling with nitrogen is good for something.

f u c king cut my rear tire at 3500. two new rears have to go on since i didnt want to wait or pay for the crappy yokohamas.

murphman 09-09-2010 03:24 PM

Damn you dont like your Yoko's? I love mine. I hate that it rains here so much but the traction i am getting with my is sick. Far better than the vogues i had on my previous car and those were almost $300 each

fuct 09-09-2010 03:46 PM

i will say wet weather driving in the yoko's is/was awesome.
