Nov. 13 - San Antonio - 1/4 mile track

Hey guys,

Headed to the track outside of San Antonio on i-10 east. Have some friends in their 370's that will be there also.

If any more 370's are in the area and want to come on out we'll be getting there around 7:00pm - 7:30pm.

Hope to see you there!

Welcome to San Antonio Raceway

I may head out to the track. Where are you planning to meet? In the pits? I've only been out there once, a few years ago. Thanks!

I have been wonder how my car will run at the San Antonio Race Way but I don't own a helmet. Is it required if you run better then 13.99, I think I read this on there website.

And will any helmet do? Can I just pick one up at Pep Boys or something?

370Zsteve 11-13-2009 10:02 AM

It's Friday the 13th!!!!!

TBSS2008 11-13-2009 02:22 PM

I picked up a helmet on my lunch break. What is the best tire pressure for track I have the OEM Bridgestone Potenza's.

I was thinking 25psi for the rear tires and 40psi for the front tires?

Sorry, I didn't see some of your posts before I left. We had a great time, wish some of you guys could have been there!

We got in 6 runs, but could have done as many as we wanted. Weren't a lot of people there which was perfect to test & tune on the go.

To tell you the truth, the track prep was pretty bad. This was my first time at this track and was not impressed. The left lane was considerably faster than the right and launching without spinning would require some ashley force skills. Even our AWD Audi TT was spinning and the rx-7 got sideways and almost put himself in the wall at around 60ft!

All in all the weather was perfect and we had a great time just hanging out car talking it up.

Attendees-
ArnVan - 370z (stillen intake, berk hi flow cats)
ianthegreat - 335i (sig)
Friend - rx7 (full bolt ons)
Friend - Audi TT (dv's, intake, tune)
Friend - Eclipse (bout 2-3k in bolt ons)

I'm in left lane here (DTC on half) - 370z in right lane.

I'm in right lane here (DTC off) - 370z left lane.

Sounds like you guys had fun that's all that matters, and your buddy DID NOT wreck his RX8 even better. My Wife took our final payment to security service Friday and paid off my 370z! Then she found out it was Friday 13th and did not want me to push it since we just paid the car off, lol!

How do you like those Berks HFC? After Christmas I think I will add the Stillen Exhaust and HFC, needs just a little more horse power. But most important I really need an Oil Cooler have you notice how easy it is to get your car's oil to 220+ even when its only 75F. When I am around 220-230F my car feels a lot more sluggish, gotta get the cooler.

Do you know of any reputable shops that do installs on a car like the 370z. I have read the DYI's and could do the HFC and Exhaust install, but I'm lazy and it would be nice to have someone else I trust do the work.

First, congratulations on your pay off. It's a great feeling!

I'm actually not the owner of the 370z. I have the 335i. He installed his HFC's and stillen intake himself on a lift at a family members business. Unfortunately, I do not know of any shops as I live in Houston and drive up to San Antonio every now and then.

..and don't worry about a helmet.. if you come w/ us next time you are more than welcome to use one of ours - we bring a few.

TBSS2008 11-16-2009 02:38 PM

Thanks it is a good feeling paying off a debt!

So you own the 335i, with the Juice Box 3 nice trap speed! I really like the new motor in the 335i and 135i, a tune gets you so much power and torque gotta love those twins!

I think I will do my own HFC and Exhaust its more rewarding to install it yourself plus there is no labor cost, just a few busted knuckles. Maybe I will see you at the track another time, stay safe.
