Fortune Auto's 500 series coilovers are an entry level system that incorporate a DIGRESSIVE piston, 24-step damping, custom rates & a five year warranty

Fortune Auto engineers had a focused goal to accomplish with the Generation 4 - 500 series dampers: to make the best single adjustable system on the market at a very affordable price point. All systems are completely built in-house by our engineering staff in Richmond, Virginia.

-Dyno tested
-Mono-Tube damper with high pressure nitrogen
-24-step rebound adjustable dampers
-Spherical Bearings
-IP synthetic 5w or 10w shock oil (prevents cavitation and promotes superior heat dissipation)
-T6 6061 Forged & Anodized aluminum mounts
-Bright Dip Anodized
-Height adjustment independent of pre-load
-5 year Manufacturer's Warranty (1 year on piston)
-Swift springs upgrade available
-Rebuild-able in the USA
-Revalve-able in the USA
-Custom Fortune Auto spring rates available at no extra charge (Standard Spring Rate Front 11K / Rear 8K)
-Modularity - Upgradeable to 2-Way Canister*

All Fortune Auto shock absorbers use Digressive piston technology. This technology allows for stiff low speed compression/rebound force which helps give better control of driver inputs such as roll, dive and squat. However, at fast stroke speeds (i.e. high speed bumps) the suspension is kept supple in response to bumps and irregularities in the road.

The ability to upgrade to 2-Way canisters at any time ensures that your investment is a sound one. Update your shocks without the need of investing into a complete new coilover system: simply send your 500 series shocks into Fortune Auto's service center for the modular 2-Way upgrade. All Generation 4 dampers are fully rebuildable, serviceable, and can be custom valved at any time.

Whats the max height on these? As in how much lower than stock is the max

If your looking for an even more track oriented coilover Fortune Auto also offers the 510

Features of the 510 Coilover include:
-Assembled in the USA
-Dyno-tested
-Dyno graph supplied with all four shocks
-Monotube damper with high pressure nitrogen
-24-step rebound adjustable dampers
-Spherical bearings
-Amsoil synthetic shock oil (the leader in shock oil technology)
-6061 forged & anodized aluminum mounts and camber plates
-Bright dip anodized
-Height adjustment independent of preload
-"Ultra" Digressive piston
-Compliant track suspension solution
-5-year Manufacturer's Warranty (1 year on piston)
-Swift springs upgrade available (Standard Spring Rate Front 11K / Rear 8K)
-Rebuild-able
-Revalve-able
-Modularity - Upgradeable to 2-Way Canister*

The new "Ultra" Double Digressive Piston (UDDP) with revised shim stacks, featured on our 510 dampers, allows for tremendous amounts of low speed force that helps with driver inputs such as dive, pitch, and roll. Furthermore, the damper force greatly tapers off to provide the driver with an internal "blow off" effect which helps with large impacts on track, keeping the vehicle stable after hitting curbing at high speeds. After countless hours on the shock dyno and testing on the track, we are proud to offer high performance coilovers that rival many high-end European shocks which cost several thousand dollars more. Due to the ultra digressive nature of this shock absorber, this product is recommended for track use only.

Are they completely built in the USA, or just assembled? Where are the components made?

Marti 10-31-2013 10:58 AM

LostSol, you should be able to easily lower the car 3" from stock.
But these are pretty much customizable to whatever your needs are.

Feel free to PM me if you want to talk more in detail or give us a shout at the shop anytime!

Chuck, to be honest they have a wide variety of parts outsourced (just like any other coilover). But you can be rest assured they are inspected and hand assembled right here in the good ol' USA

I'm trying to avoid any Chinese/Taiwanese coilovers. Are these still on my list?

Marti 10-31-2013 11:14 AM

Unfortunately, nowadays your chances are pretty slim trying to source a coilover that isn't built over there.

We can however recommend a set of KW, H&R or Bilstein coilovers as those are built in Germany.

We do have a few other options depending on your budget.

I'll probably end up with one of those. I'll take the rest of that discussion offline so I don't clutter up your thread.

No worries at all, buddy. We're hear to help. It's never clutter. We appreciate the opportunity.

Does Ohlins have anything for the Z34 yet? I've loved eveything of theirs I've ever used.
