Mike, yes that's his forum name, powder coats and from what has been said, he does a good job. PM him and see what he says.

IF you are upgrading from stock brakes to the sport package ones then you can buy the nissan 40th edition sport Akebonos (which come red) or if you already have sport then you can go to Scott and Relentless Autosports :) Ill personally vouch for him since im buying suspension, rotors, and a roll cage from him :)

We have already sold a couple sets of the Nismo 40th Anniversary edition metallic red Akebono calipers. In fact, we might have even been the first in the country to do this since we were able to order them from Nissan Motorsports North America even before there was a part number for them, LOL.
We also powdercoat brake calipers all the time (along with wheels, suspension, among many other parts). So we could get anything powdercoated any color or texture your imagination can come up with... we usually will beat any prices as well.... |
If you have the older ones why cant you have them painted.. hope that works,..

so, I typed out a long post and the power surged right before I hit enter :<
Anyway, I am a custom powdercoater specializing in brake calipers. I've done over 1250 sets in the last 5 years. I do all of the disassembly and reassembly of them, so you don't have to do anything but transfer your hardware over and install. I currently have one set of Akebono calipers available for exchange. My pricing is 300 for premium members, and 350 for everyone else, plus 30 shipping and a 600 refundable core charge if you want to do the exchange. I haven't yet recreated the AE version, but that would be no problem at all. Most people want 'Akebono' instead of 'Nissan' on them, but I can do whatever you want. Even getting ready to do a custom set for Z1 with their logo on them. Here are some that I have done though: http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/6...ngeakebono.jpg http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/7525/dsc05027w.jpg http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/6581/dsc04938f.jpg http://img19.imageshack.us/img19/999...leinfiniti.jpg http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/592...eenakebono.jpg http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/112/limerearake.jpg |

Got a part number or a price quote?

I saw in some Japanese blogs that some Fairlady Z34 owners are buying the red calipers for their car from Nissan. However, I think powdercoating is the most cost effective way to get red calipers.

LOL. In fact... I probably lose money and sells all the time by doing things like this, but I feel it is the right thing to do, and I would appreciate it if I was in the same situation looking for help with something. |
We just sold another full set of the matallic red Nismo 40th anniversary Akebono calipers this week (this time to an M35 owner)
