GT Motoring - Challenge Stainless Steel Brake Lines
Challenge - Stainless Steel brake lines - All 370Z Models
http://www.challenge-usa.com/images/...370z-lines.jpg MSRP: $125 Into price: $105 shipped please PM or email us to purchase nick@gtmotoring.com This full stainless steel line kit for the 370z replaces all your flexible brake lines on your performance car. We retained and refined the stock line configurations and mounting points for an OEM quality fit and finish. Challenge uses stainless steel braided TeflonŽ hoses. Each line has a clear coating protecting it from any of the elements. Stainless steel braided TeflonŽ brake lines will not expand or contract under braking. This results in a vehicle with less brake pedal travel, without locking the brakes. All parts and components are DOT approved. Made in USA http://gallery.gtmotoring.com/d/4256...+lines-web.jpg |

I'll post some pictures later today. Everything went great with the install except for the rear passenger side. Apparently Nissan uses Gorillas at the factory to tighen all the nuts and bolts on the 370Z. We ended up with a cross threaded end on the hard line that runs from the caliper to the block. It was on there so tight that we could hardly get it off. It may have been cross threaded when it was installed. We ended up having to order a replacement hard line from Nissan. I'm still waiting for it to come in. Hopefully it will be here tomorrow.
As for the Challenge stainless steel brake line kit though fit and finish are first rate and it fits like a glove on the three sides that we finished. One trick though on the rear is to remove the hard line from the caliper before trying to break the hard line loose from the block on the OEM soft line. That way you can put the block in a vice and then loosen the nut on the hard line where it connects to the block. |

Not sure why it's made this way as the one piece replacement line seems to be a much more logical choice. http://i852.photobucket.com/albums/a...f/100_7884.jpg Stainless Steel Front Line Installed Pictures. http://i852.photobucket.com/albums/a...f/100_7876.jpg http://i852.photobucket.com/albums/a...f/100_7874.jpg http://i852.photobucket.com/albums/a...f/100_7875.jpg Rear Stainless Steel Brake Line. http://i852.photobucket.com/albums/a...f/100_7880.jpg Rear OEM Hard Line (which runs from the caliper to the block at the end of the soft line and replacement stainless steel line) http://i852.photobucket.com/albums/a...f/100_7883.jpg Rear OEM hard line and soft line in the vice so that they can be disconnected from each other. It's much easier to remove both before separating them rather than trying to disconnect them on the car. http://i852.photobucket.com/albums/a...f/100_7881.jpg http://i852.photobucket.com/albums/a...f/100_7882.jpg |
Nice write up thanks!
Sucks about that part being cross threaded :( |

The stainless steel lines give the brake pedal a nice solid feel. |
