If I am gunning for you it is a bad thing. How about I'll be rooting for England. Maybe you can get Suarez in as an immigrant.

The games for the most part have been wins vs ties. Much more exciting. Brasil/Mexico was not what I'd hoped for.

Solomatrix 06-19-2014 06:43 PM

USA will win the world cup because #1 country in the world 'merica :usa:

Handball, should of been a red it was a go at goal, and the *** knew exactly what he was doing. They should of been 10 times more physical with them, they didn't. And the opportunities that they had they blew by shooting right at the damn keeper, unbelievable. Suarez did his thing, should of threw some bodies at him, but I can't be mad at him. Terrible game was terrible

Yep, I agree. England had their chances and blew it like a scottish man on his bagpipe big time. Plus like you said not physical enough. Oh well, I am drunk and sad now....

no they're not... the way it's going now, it will either be netherlands or germany

saber 06-20-2014 12:01 PM

Costa Rica is looking really good in this tournament. Italy's really getting beat up by the climate!

Aside: I am sad I won't get to see an Arsenal home game when I'm in London this year. Aston Villa too far for me, so I'll have to wait for another day. :(

njobe89 06-20-2014 01:16 PM

i guess balotelli wont be getting that kiss from the queen lol

the weather is killing the european teams wait till the last 16 they gonna be dead by then specially after the long season they have played in their leagues . there is a reason y no eruropean team have won a world cup in south america even here in the us brazil won it and the two world cups in mexico argentina took the one in 1986 and brazil in 1970 . germany and netherlands are always tough but lets see how they gonna keep up with argentinas offense

its the weather .. when was the last time costarica won 2 games back to back in world cup .. never im telling u the world cup organizers are making all european teams play during the day when its really hot

Limeybastard 06-20-2014 10:11 PM

I didn't think it was hotter than Florida there at the moment let alone late afternoon or evening games and the weather is cool. Besides, a lot of southern European countries are warm believe it or not.

I think the weather has a small part to play yes, but that's not an excuse for a veteran strong squad like the Italians have. Pirlo wasn't even phased first game at all in the amazon. Costa Rica just outplayed them in every way.

argentina won in 1986 cause they cheated and maradona scored a goal with his hand. The heat doesn't seem to be slowing the netherlands down... aside from that this word cup is a joke, on saturday bosnia got cheated out that game. there was no offsides when they scored a goal and then that foul wasn't called and nigeria scored.

FIFA World Cup 2014 Thread!

Thought id be over the draw with portugal yesterday but no, thats the first thing that came to mind when i woke up this morning :(

saber 06-23-2014 10:45 AM

Michael Bradley cost us two points and automatic advance into the next round with his idiotic play AGAIN. It was like he was trying to get the draw by turning it over to Portugal no less than three times in the final five minutes. The man is a liability all over again, and needs to stay the f*ck away from the first team.

Quote:

From that position they really should have won. Portugal looked pretty toothless. Ronaldo's best attempt was a shot he lashed about 15 feet wide, and the man with stars shaved into his head spanked one over the bar. The USA defended well and coped with just about everything that was thrown at them. When Michael Bradley – who had earlier missed a brilliant chance to score – had the ball in midfield in the final minute of injury time, that should have been that.

However, he rather carelessly lost possession, the ball came to Ronaldo wide on the right, and as heartbreaking as the goal was, you can't ignore the quality of the cross or the finish from substitute Varela. A salutary lesson that mistakes at this level of football can cost you dearly, and instead of three points and qualification, it's one and an exciting, but tense, final round. If they draw against Germany they go through, but if Ghana beat Portugal and the game against Germany ends in defeat, they're out.
Hell, even arseblog agrees with me :rofl2:

u r absolutely right that turn over could cost the us the qualification to next round if they loose to germany, and if ghana can beat portugal which is possible remember ronaldo is not 100% healthy at this moment

njobe89 06-24-2014 06:28 AM

brazil will win the world cup... it's all scripted, worse then wwe

Seraphix 06-24-2014 10:52 AM

About the US game, sucks about Bradley cause he really had a much better game than the first. And they were so consistent all game, everyone stepped up. Bradley just got lazy and it cost us the game. But is it a surprise to anyone that we have to fight to get a win again. Least were accustomed to it.

fire165 06-24-2014 11:29 AM

Bradley originated the play that cost us the game.
However, if you played soccer before, you should remember this rule "if you are going to lose the ball, do it in the middle of the field" In his case, for some reason, he wanted to bring the ball down, and keep possession, where all he had to do "knowing" the game was seconds away, was to kick that ball first time on the stands. It didn't happen.
Regardless, I still think he should start every game for the USA.

Seraphix 06-24-2014 11:41 AM

^^ or chase it down after he lost it. He quit running after it. He could of fouled after he lost it, but he just stopped. Anyways I agree he should start, but dude needs to play hungry like the rest of the boys.

saber 06-24-2014 12:07 PM

Agreed that he played better, but he basically went into "we got this" mode after dempsey f*cked the ball in for the 2nd goal. It's ridiculous that an athlete at this level thinks he can get time off during the game.

He's one of the veterans of the team too, I don't understand how he makes such a rookie-esque mistake. Everybody else was running their hearts out and I just watched him trot back on "defense"

Freaking Suarez, there going to suspend him, there goes there hope for a World Cup. Well he wants to go to Barca, seems like there's talks going, Barca offered 60+ million + Alexis Sanchez for Suarez....

njobe89 06-24-2014 02:04 PM

They have to suspend him at least 1 game... i wouldn't be surprised if he gets like a 3 game ban or something. this is the 3rd time he has done it... he is a good futbal player but his character is horrible. i don't think he will leave liverpool though, he likes it there.

Seraphix 06-26-2014 12:54 PM

I'm really starting to dislike Bradley... Were in though

Solomatrix 06-26-2014 02:57 PM

Limeybastard 06-26-2014 08:42 PM

Seraphix 07-04-2014 09:25 PM

Zuniga broke Neymar's 3d vertebra on a blatant foul meant to injure. Neymar is out the rest of the tournament. He says he was protecting his jersey his country... Took out the great Brazilian hope? Good luck getting out the country buddy. Ref is definitely to blame for not taking control of the match early, but Zuniga needs to get what's coming to him, dirty is dirty, he didn't just leave bite marks.

CC QUIK 07-04-2014 09:33 PM

orange crush in the final. 4th time's a charm!

axmea? 07-05-2014 01:13 AM

Because of dirty boy Zuniga, the German's chances of getting through the semi just got way better.
