Yeah, you somehow got someone to actually give up a draft pick for Blaine Gabbert. :rofl2:The team just got exponentially better with him elsewhere. Whe HOU knocked him out of the game and Henne came in I was so pissed. Usually when you knock the starter out of the game it's a good thing. Not when the starter is probably the only guy in the league who had a worse year than than Schaub. :rofl2:

b1adesofcha0s 03-13-2014 12:17 PM

I think Gabbert actually has a higher salary on the 49ers than Kaepernick does right now. :rofl2:

Most likely. Gabbert was a really high pick. For some reason. :rofl2:

b1adesofcha0s 03-13-2014 01:58 PM

So Vince Wilfork has asked the Patriots to release him....

b1adesofcha0s 03-17-2014 08:27 PM

Cowboys signed a great replacement for Romo..........Brandon Weeden. Why wait till the 4th quarter to throw a game away when you can do it in the first :rofl2:

Schaub's asking price was too high. Texans are actually trying to trade him.

I think at this point we'd take anything in exchange. But for some reason he makes a lot of money.

I don't blame the Texans, just any team even considering to go through with that trade.

I can't imagine a gm sitting down with his boss and telling him "I think we'd be a much better team if you would go get me Matt Schaub." :rofl2: Especially when he'll be released soon enough if no one trades for him.

Well the Cowboys could use a 4th QB to compete with Weeden :icon17:

That's not out of the question when Jerry Jones is making the decisions.

Haboob 03-18-2014 09:27 AM

Broncos signed Ware. :shakes head:

I hope Jones uses the money he's saving from Ware & Austin to bolster the defense as a whole.

God damn we were awful last year.

My bet is he uses it to give Romo another extension. :rofl2:

Didn't the Cowboys sign Jared Allen yesterday? I somehow doubt he's going to be averaging 13 sacks/yr for them (his current career avg).

Wouldn't put it past him.

Romo isn't the entire problem. A lot of the turnovers this year were the receivers fault and the losses the [lack of] defense's fault.

We either need to just tank a couple of seasons and get draft picks, or spend like a mofo. This perpetual mediocrity does nothing for us.

Did they?!

I haven't been keeping up.

I just saw a tweet on FB about Ware.

I'm not in NFL mode at all. I won't be until about August.

Yeah, but as long as Jerry insists on being the GM the Cowboys will be an 8-8 team at best. The last time they were worth a damn they had a coach who wasn't a puppet and they built through the draft. Now, Jerry is trying to be the second coming of Al Davis.

I swear I saw it on the NFL Network when I was home for lunch yesterday.

**edit** nevermind... he's just in discussion... visiting them today.

Haboob 03-18-2014 09:38 AM

Looks like Allen is just set to visit. Hasn't signed according to the Cowboys' website.

Isn't he already the same age as Romo too?

b1adesofcha0s 03-18-2014 10:57 AM

If they have 2 $100M QB's on their roster, they will be unstoppable!

Chuck33079 03-21-2014 11:13 AM

Matt Schaub traded to the raiders for a late round pick

Texans sign Ryan Fitzpatrick

Hopefully this means that we'll get a QB with the first pick. In the second round.

Chuck33079 03-21-2014 11:15 AM

To quote the Houston Press, "Does Oakland's management team really sit in a room, look at each other and say "Sure, sure, I realize Kerry Collins, Andrew Walter, Daunte Culpepper, JaMarcus Russell, Jason Campbell, Carson Palmer....but really, this time, MATT SCHAUB is the answer."

:rofl2:

At least we managed to stick someone with his bigass salary.

b1adesofcha0s 03-21-2014 11:48 AM

Can't believe they actually traded for him at that salary. Could have just waited for him to be released.

Haboob 03-21-2014 11:52 AM

Daaaa Raidaaaaa's.

Whatever helps that shithole organization die, I'm for it.

Chuck33079 03-21-2014 11:53 AM

Yeah, we only saved about $4m, but this way we have to eat the whole hit this year. Rick Smith can't kick the can down the road again. I'd rather rip the band-aid off fast.

They were worried, and I find this funny as hell, that if he were released that the Browns would make a better offer. If you're worried about Cleveland snaking your guy, doesn't that mean you have the wrong guy?

big daddy 06-19-2014 03:03 PM
