note: I am not a fan of him, but his drive today was just brilliant.

Especially after all of the problems they had in practice.

Much as I respect Mercedes for making a car that is... just... ridiculously faster than the field, it is less exciting to tune in when you know who will finish 1-2 every race. But this isn't new in f1

I was so hoping Nico could overtake Lewis during the last few laps. Poor Britney.

Daniel Ricciardo just makes me want to root for him in every race. He's always so happy looking lol.

Shame that the Ferrari team couldn't get near the front today. Good on Vettel for making up all those positions. I've got to say, to see him struggling this season is making me like him just a tad.

I think Vettel just shut all those mouths who've said he couldn't pass. good job.

Feel bad for Ferrari too, 2nd season they don't have a good car/chassis to start with thus update doesn't help much.. same as McLaren.... :(

what's wrong with this season?? besides the sound??

new winner, good mix and battle in midfield, even the mercedes pair are dominating the season so far, at least they race against each other wheels to wheels..

remember last couple season when you see vettel was at front by himself after 2 laps??

it is much better this season...

what else do you need?

Haboob 05-13-2014 02:41 PM

Is it though? There wasn't much racing. Mercedes ran away with the race.

Sure, Hamilton and Rosberg raced each other, but inner-team racing isn't near as fun as team on team.

Vettel's charge from 15th was impressive though.

Also, how the hell did the Mercedes team surpass McLaren-Mercedes? That I don't understand.

Nor the fact that McLaren is moving to Honda next season?

yes, but isn't it still better than seeing just one of them lapping the field alone??

do you know paddy lowe is from mclaren?? also, toto wolff already said prior to the start of the season that mercedes is going to give full support to mercedes but partial support to mclaren because mclaren is switching to honda next season

Not really. I'd rather see two completely different manufacturers battle it out. Seeing a team go 1-2 (even when I was supporting Schumacher and Ferrari) was kind of boring and always raised the idea of team orders, the second driver slowing down a charging third place opponent, etc.

Back when it was Schumacher v. Hakkinen... man, that was fun.

As for the second part, no. I haven't stayed in touch with F1 in quite some time. I watched the first season that Red Bull dominated out of no where, then I stopped watching after that.

I guess it's been what, six or seven years now since that happened? :icon17:

Schumacher v. Hakkinen, :yum:

too bad it only lasted for 3 seasons, first season they were more like head to head, very exciting..

2nd season Schumacher broke his legs in Silverstone, and Irvine was not quite up to par.

3rd season... I consider that one Schumacher didn't win the title himself but because of ross brawn(race strategist at that time) and luck (a short rain after hakkinen's pit stop thus the position switch thus the title went to schumacher)

yup, I missed those seasons too, do you remember the pass from hakkinen @ Spa?? :yum::yum:

I was just a youngin'. I don't remember race specifics (outside of Schumi breaking his leg), but I just remember they were fun to watch.

I even have a poster of Hakkinen and the McLaren-Mercedes in my room (and I was a Ferrari fan!). :icon17:
