Even during the season I going for teams other than the Red Sox if it helps the sox in the long run.

Went to the season ending series with Boston last year. The Sox fans that came down were cool. They were actually pulling for the Birds to take out the Yankees. We are going to a Six game the last series of the year again this year.

And any team playing the Yankees. :bowrofl:

Lemers 03-31-2013 11:41 PM

Yes, my 2 favorite teams are the Red Sox and anyone beating the Yankees.

Haboob 04-02-2013 09:43 AM

It has begun! Baseball is back!

And we smashed the Cards for 6 runs on 15 hits (7 doubles) last night. Was a fun game to go to.

Life is pretty good right now, now that the MLB is back.

Same here the Yankees and anyone playing against the Red SUXS!

Roadster4Us 04-02-2013 07:08 PM

Nice season opener for the Birds against the Rays today.

Haboob 04-02-2013 10:00 PM

What a heart-breaker in Houston.

Darvish (TX) was one out away from a perfect game and a base hit up the middle, through his legs ended it.

Lemers 04-03-2013 02:05 PM

At least it was the pitcher who missed it and not someone else.

Lemers 04-03-2013 07:56 PM

Watching the Red Sox play on ESPN 2. Won their opener and they are winning this game 6-1.

Lemers 04-03-2013 09:53 PM

Red Sox won their second game for their first series win of the season.

I figure its gonna take around 96 wins to win the East, so they are 2 down and have 94 more to go.

And for all you "it's only April and these games don't mean anything". Every win no matter if its in April or October counts the same. So keep it up and get them anytime Red Sox!

Haboob 04-03-2013 10:40 PM

Dbacks have come back to take the lead over the Cards! Love it! We need to keep this up.

Aaaand we gave it right back. :shakes head:

Haboob 04-03-2013 11:43 PM

This is a great game. Back and forth battle. Wish I could watch it live, but just have to watch it on GameDay. :(

Damn ESPN 2, I was looking all over the place. Your team is looking good even that anyone gives the light of day to Boston and NY to make the playoffs this year.

Not looking pretty for NY this season.... :shakes head:

Are they going to show it today in ESPN?

Lemers 04-04-2013 06:54 PM

It's for free on the MLB station

Roadster4Us 04-04-2013 07:25 PM

Birds take two out of three from the Rays in Tampa. Nice starting series.

Haboob 04-04-2013 07:57 PM

Off days suck. Nothing to watch on TV. :(

Lemers 04-04-2013 08:04 PM

Is it just me or is it weird seeing Ichiro in a Yankee uniform.

THX for the tip...BTW, Youk too

Lemers 04-04-2013 08:10 PM

Hearing Yankee stadium yell "youk" instead of "boo"

Lemers 04-04-2013 08:13 PM

The announcers were discussing what kind of reaction the Fenway faithful will have to youk in pinstripes. I think that they will cheer him. He didn't leave like jonny D did. Youk was traded so leaving wasn't his choice.

:iagree:

PapoZalsa 04-06-2013 08:06 PM

Damn, saw the 1st TV game of the NYY and if I recognized 3 names out of the players in the roster was too much.

It looked like a Double A team, YES is Ugly but "Live by the sword, die by the sword" :(

BTW, Youk is playing good...

Anyway I'm glad baseball is back and to see the Yankees!

Haboob 04-07-2013 11:34 PM

Swept the Brew-crew in Milwaukee. So sweet. Looks like Braun's 'roids are starting to affect him.

It was funny though, they put him in the on deck circle, then pulled him back and put Lohse (P) instead to hit in the bottom of the 12 down by a run. :rofl2::rofl2:

PapoZalsa 04-10-2013 07:54 PM

So far the AL East teams are playing hard. However Toronto has not show up for all off- season buzz....will see is early.

Haboob 04-10-2013 09:17 PM

Smashed the Bucs today, but too little too late. We already let them win the series.

Dodgers on Friday. Beat LA!!

PapoZalsa 04-12-2013 09:10 PM

Triple Play by NYY for the Record Books...

Mariano Rivera earned his 610th career save.

Haboob 04-13-2013 10:25 AM

Dang, must be nice to see.

A triple play is on my bucket list to see live at a game, along with a grand slam (done, two seasons ago vs. the Twins), cycle (I've been one double away and one single away each time I've been close ), no-no, and perfect game (would scratch the no-no off the list)

Haboob 04-13-2013 10:26 AM

Oh, and Clayton Kershaw who?!? 3ER and an L last night! Was great to see! Here's to beating Ryu tonight for the series win!

PapoZalsa 04-14-2013 05:38 PM

Went to see the Movie 42, Great Film about Jackie Robinson and Baseball History.

To know that Mariano Rivera shares a special connection with the baseball legend who broke the color line - he's the last Major League Baseball player to wear Jackie Robinson's number 42, which was retired by the league in 1997 for all new players.

Haboob 04-14-2013 05:40 PM

I really want to see 42.

Took two of three from the Dodgers (including giving Kershaw 3ER). On to Yankee Stadium to win that series too.

Looking forward to seeing that Jose.

ESPN tonight, Yanks-O's for the series win. Should be good.

I definitely want to see 42.

And at least we can all be relatively sure that the last guy to wear that number will enter the HOF some day.

That's a sure bet if there ever was one.

3.7 ZPA 04-16-2013 07:41 PM

I think it's time to face the fact that Nova is just...not good. :shakes head: In other news, they were playing "Sweet Caroline" at Yankee Stadium in honor of Boston.

I had the pleasure of seeing the Yanks turn that triple play live on Friday. At that point, there was only like 15,000 people there, but it sounded like 40. Awesome.

Haboob 04-16-2013 08:00 PM

We had this, but McCarthy absolutely sucks. I don't know why we pitched to Cano. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

It's about time that we called up Skaggs and sent McCarthy back down, or cut our losses and ship him out to another squad.

I have to say, I was cursing Girardi for not having Gardner bunt. Who looks like a genius now?

Haboob 04-16-2013 08:04 PM

lol @ Ichiro's swing at the ball that bounced 4ft in front of the plate.

Swinging at arm motion apparently...
