But Fernando.
There's cool. And then there's "Fernando Alonso running third in a grand prix and watching his team mate pass on the jumbo screen and cheering him on over the radio like he was sitting on a couch in his living room" cool. |
Glad to see HAAS get a point, and they have scored points in 3/5 races.
For me the drive was Hamilton, always seems to make it happen. Max, was expected and as stated here, Perez was on wrong tires. It was fun watching KMAG, give Leclare a hard time. Made for some interesting racing... Alonso more respect for him after each time he runs.... Simply amazing... |
No submarine races this weekend. Imola cancelled. :-(
https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/a...BGdJqhxnO.html It's the right thing to do, of course. I'm just selfishly missing a race weekend. Especially the best one of the next 3 or 4 races. I wouldn't cry if then cancelled Monaco. |

You may think that you are cool, but you will likely never be “watching Monaco from the deck of my yacht while polishing my F40” cool.

well at least it rained a bit during the race, made it somewhat interesting
Thou I personally think the FIA doesn't like HAAS. The Hulk's first lap penalty wtf. Then Sainz driving with a broken wing tip, where's the meatball |

I completely gave up on his season to the point I didn't realize LeClerc climbed into P4.
But Godlonso still hanging. Hoping Stroll finds form so AM can gnab 2nd for the season. |
It was an interesting race yesterday
MAX - unless an act of god will be WC Alonso or Hamilton might place 2nd. Stroll - no idea, he did well for a bit and now has lost it HAAS - car likes to eat tires, if they can resolve that might have a change Albon - what a drive for Williams... Perez - please forget about the WC and get back to what you are, your not a WC The McLaren penalty for stacking that Norris got, please FIA/F1 spend some money on full time officials Why no Black/Orange flag for Ocon wing just shaking, if it was a HAAS, there would have been one... Have a good one |

Most noticeable was Perez, who had ever fast time in Q2 deleted. Interesting on how Norris with the upgrades was very quick Haas surprised me, for I read they were using this as a test weekend, to try to fix the car in race conditions... It was entertaining with all the laps that were deleted. :hello: |

That's where they need to be on race day, in order to stay competitive. And not trip over their own strategy or make driver mistakes - I'm not holding my breath! But one can dream. Yes, great to see Lando do so well. Although I suspect it might have been a different story had other drivers managed to stay in bounds. So is this the same deal as the last sprint - this sets the grid for Saturday AND Sunday? |
Now it gets interesting - Sky is reporting that Max is being called to the Stewards office to answer claims he was impeding K-Mag.
Probably won't come to anything. |

And the sprint race was interesting, they had some rain, started on intermediates and some switched to slicks with about 5-6 laps to go..
If you get a chance watch it... Haas score some points and the Hulk was running 2nd for half the race.... |

THIS, in case it is not obvious to the un-trained eye, is what Forumula 1 calls a "more regionalized" calendar for 2024.
No, no, actually I AM serious. That's what they are touting. Swapping Japan and Azerbaijan makes it more regionalized. |

MB - typical on off again, one race good next race who knows, but it will be interesting to see what happens Williams a surprise and in what I read, they even say it based on the conditions, glad to see Sargent up there. really do no know what to say, its practice and things all always changing. On a side note, I am tracking on Saturday and traveling on Sunday, so I will not get to watch anything till later. Thou, might try to find it on the Sirius app to listen to on Sunday... enjoy |
Wild and fun qualifier. Perez out back should make for good race drama. Hoping for just enough rain to keep the strategies interesting and all drivers on their toes.
|
Love seeing the updates - watched the Netflix docuseries and it was great. Really got me into following a lot of these guys and I can see why there is so much interest in it. Definitely was fun to watch.
Seems like Max is going to be the run away winner again and it seems like everyone is trying to sort out their car to catch RedBull or can't seem to get out of their own way (looking at Ferrari). |
Danny Ricciardo to replace Nyck De Vries at Alpha Tauri for Hungary in 2 weeks.
It might have been his tire test in the RB19 that clinched the seat: ""Sources say Ricciardo was impressive in today’s Pirelli tyre test with Red Bull, his first drive in 2023 machinery, and that his best lap would have been good enough for the front row of the grid in Sunday’s British Grand Prix,” F1 reporter Lawrence Barretto stated." "What is not mentioned is which tyre compound that was set on, with Pirelli having brought the C1, C2 and C3 compounds to Silverstone, meaning there were two more grippy compounds in their range, the C4 and C5, which Ricciardo could have potentially used to clock that lap." Brad Pitt to replace Sergio Perez at Red Bull. You heard it here first! :rofl2: |
Sergio Pérez - crashes within first 5 minutes of first practice session started...
now raining at Hungary really was a nothing session with 7 cars not running at all in the wet conditions With RB, not running at all. Has any one seen the new updates, I have to look at them again.. Sam Collins, was great on F1TV, standing in the rain and talking about changes on the car.... |
Well Max and RB were something else today.
They totally had it. Did get interesting towards the end, the MB seemed to come alive.. But who knows what was going on.... Not a great race, start and opps and alfa having major opps.. Alpine out after Zou did a huge opps on the start... |
Well HAAS messed up the Sprint Shootout 3
very bad timing, both cars are out... Shootout 2 Track conditions are changing so fast from wet to a dry line Stroll went out on mediums and ends Shoutout 2 ends on a red flag eliminated Sargent (no time) / Albon (no time) / Stroll / Ricardo/Alonso (no time) MAX is .623 ahead of everyone in Shootout 2 Watch Shootout 3, it was a thriller |
Well Max is Max, so if simply agree, that we can throw away first place,
then the race was a bit interesting... Thou Perez in the RB, I really think, we should give Ricro the seat next year. Then it might be interesting... Have the RB fight for 1st and let the others depending on what weekend fight for the rest... As to Hamilton Penalty in the sprint and Sainz and Piastri getting together at turn one... Damn, the rules are different which suck, because Saniz had similar damage to Perez, but there was not penalty... As much as Indy Car is a spec series, at least most of the time, you have about 10 drivers that can win.. too bad they have not PR that is worth a damn.. Nascar is a wreak feast, get out of my way and bang, they are... |
I was surprised to see how much damage Checo sustained with the car barely being nudged by Hamilton (and no Damage to Car 44 from what I recall).
Sainz / Piastri was kind of a stupid racing incident. Not sure what made Carlos lock up, but once he turned in, Piastri went for a gap that was never going to be there. PIA should have backed out of it before the wall. kind of a 50-50 at fault and that's why there was no further investigation. Both lost their race out of it, but I have no clue why they did not retire the Ferrari on lap 1 rather than putting 20 more pointless laps on the engine and gearbox. Sad for Piastri, as I really wanted to see what he could do. Of course, with the high downforce on a dry track, a podium was never in his future. The kid's good though. McLaren has put together a super team. I hope that they can continue to fund it! |
I guess Max and RBR kinda took the wind out of this thread!
:hello: |

Thou Max is simply killing it, the Italian GP was entertaining with the Ferrari's going at it. Hamilton apology. the Mclaren's fighting, Williams doing Williams type running. Fell Sargent will be gone for next year. Just came up too early... that sums it up for me .... |
well so far, its a strategy race, and Sargent goes off again
causes a safety car for and everyone pits, except max |
now its exciting, RedBull has blown it this time... 33 laps to go
