Sounds like they may delay Barcelona testing, so it's probably true (wasn't time to do the 2 week quarantine to get into Australia after testing anyway).
My Aussie friend is telling me that it's even hard to travel from state to state right now. Given how packed the calendar is, I suspect that "delayed" means cancelled this year. Unless they hold the Race # 4 slot open or quickly switch some dates around. |
Cyril is out of Renault / Alpine with immediate effect!

Melbourne GP delayed to Nov 21.

Hold the presses.
Seems that Brazil might be in jeopardy now - due to a legal challenge about using public money to secure the race. https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/15...QYgwDuAF7JtLsM |

Formula 1, the FIA and the teams have formally agreed to run the single pre-season of 2021 test in Bahrain on 12-14 March.
In the interest of cost saving, testing has been restricted to just three days in 2021, which means one and a half days of running for each driver. The test was originally expected to be held in Barcelona on 2-4 March, however as soon as it became clear some weeks ago that Australia would be postponed and Bahrain would become the opening race teams agreed that it would be logical to hold the test at Sakhir. |

Nice one. Norris would qualify as class clown as well.

The record-breaking 23-race Formula One calendar released for 2021 seemed incredibly ambitious when it was announced in October, and now it appears that those fears are going to be borne out. Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) president Jean Todt has now admitted that the season is probably going to be rearranged. Actually, about half of it. Half of it is probably going to be rearranged.

Not sure about where others live, but Canada is saying that all who want a vaccine will have it by September. They've quite cleverly not said THIS September or NEXT, as the math does not add up to get 30+ million vaccinated with two jabs in 30 weeks (Pfizer is stopping shipments for 4 weeks as they re-tool their Belgian plant which supplies us - 30 weeks is from the resumption of deliveries to end of September). We cannot manage 200,000 a week right now, so how are we going to do 2 million? Not happening. :-( Anyway, cannot fit 23 races into the second half of the season, so it will be interesting to see what shakes out. I'd hate to be a scheduler for a sports TV network these days!!! |
