I did not know the history. Thanks for sharing.

I love me some F1!

I wish a blown gearbox for Ferrari.

Gearbox is to be finally assesed in a few hours by Ferrari. If its in doubt it will be changed. The initial assessment is no damage but they did not power it up significantly. They will need sometime for a change if needed.

:iagree::iagree: This needs to change. Not only for Monaco but for all races!!

Word is Charlie’s gearbox has been cleared. He will lead the grid.

Yes for sure. Its a problem with the qualy rules. Makes no sense at all. Maybe the FIA will address it. It did rob us fans of true competition. If you crash you cannot deny others but its what we have for the moment

HAPPY RACE DAY!! :) See the pic of Porsche Super Cup support race crash today on the circuit.........wow.

Driveshaft was another story.

Not really sure why anyone would be mad at him/Ferrari specifically. All jokes aside, there isn't really anything favorable about binning the car like that in attempt to sabotage the qualifying when the race is on the line.

Add 2 minutes to qualy and let the remaining runners do the laps they started. Qualy should not be stopped for a crash.

Only following highlights, but interesting race.
Happy for Vettel. Really everyone in that top 5 had a great race.

Mercedes had an off weekend and reading into Lewis' remarks is always a mixed bag. At first glance it sounds whiny, but it's all about not letting up with holding accountability. Can't have that next weekend.

Ferrari confirm that the left driveshaft hub failure that caused Charles Leclerc not to start the Monaco Grand Prix was a consequence of his qualifying crash. This is not a part normally checked following this type of accident but Ferrari will update its procedures now

Because after all, when a Ferrari has been in an accident, the proper thing for the team to do is just buff out the scratches and go for an espresso, right?

FACEPALM!

Even if he were to have started 5 places back, there was a huge haul of points to be had here. Typical Ferrari incompetence.

I doubt that Charles binned it on purpose, but do not know for sure. Be that as it may, adding time for the others to get another lap in would make the most sense. Sh!t happens in racing. But you don't dumb down the field because the fastest guy crashed. What if Bottas crashed after Lewis did a pole lap, preventing Max from finishing faster? Is that to be penalized as a team? Too many ways to look at this. Too many conspiracy theories. Just get on with the job!

I just don't get how Bottas gets a messed up pit stop in almost every race now (and lets not forget Russell last year), whereas this NEVER happens to Lewis. WTF?
