New Addition to our Group - a 40th Anniversary!

All,

A friend of mine is getting a 40th Anniversary 370Z in the next couple of weeks. It's a 2010, used, from Oklahoma. Here is where I need some input from y'all:

A couple of the rims have curb rash on them:

Also, some paint scratches:

Can y'all recommend a wheel repair place that does a good job repairing the scratches and a good body shop to buff out the scratches?

Thanks!

There is a place called Rimedies over by Lafayette. Something looks funny about the paint under that tailight? The white scratch can be buffed but the chip needs paint.

Hey Harold,

Yeah this is Mike Cure's possible 40th Anniversary 370Z. I believe there are some shops here in the NO area, but not sure where they are...

^^ Agree with Harold.

Chips are going to need a repaint. It's POSSIBLE to have the chips filled and then buffed over and blend them in, but it's not going to be 100%. I have only seen some really, really top notch detailers do that.

The scratches can be buffed out with a high speed buffer and some compound.

Rims... well... the proper way to fix the rim would be to have it dismounted, the lip would be shaved down and then the wheel gets re-painted. The most times I have seen that happen, they almost never match the other 3. If the wheels are scratched on on side, I say do them both and get them to match the other side as best as possible... that way it's less noticeable because you don't look at both sides of the car at the same time.

Fishers in baton rouge can fix wheels... they will require you to bring the wheel by there for a price quote.

Fixing some rash? Or just changing the color?

Thanks guys. I'll relay the info. However, seems the deal may not go thru 'cause the dealer is playing games with the paint issue and really pissing Mike off...! :shakes head:

Kaien, the Fishers that does the work for me and Jimmy, isn't the same shop that does wheel repair.

Check out my thread for more pics of my wheels... but this is the new look!
