I've been to L.A. and southern California a few times and it's always fun. I'm always going for car stuff and events so maybe that is why it's a good time. Definitely a culture shock when you compare it to Baton Rouge.

Yes, it really is. I've had a hard time adjusting but whatever. I plan to hit you up soon though about getting those parts for my car! I'm waiting till I get paid, then I've gotta find a good day to head out there.

KaienZ34 01-10-2012 07:09 AM

Let us all know when you go and we'll make a day of it.

r1010220 01-10-2012 08:25 AM

Well I took the plunge i have the 370 from carmax. It's overall in great shape. I do feel i get acessive vibration to the stick. And when im in S mode at higher RPMs and i switch to neutral, it sometimes picks up a lower gear and the rpms shoot to redline.
do any of you guys experience this

I get a vibration in the shifter, but i wouldnt call it excessive...

How fast are you going and in which gear when you put it in neutral?

There is a position sensor on the shifter for use with SynchroRev (S mode). If you move the shifter too close to a lower gear, then yes, the engine will rev up anticipating a downshift. It's perfectly normal. Gently put it into neutral and don't wiggle it thereafter. See if that solves your problem. I can't think of a situation where you'd need to go straight into neutral from high revs anyhow. If you needed to slow down you can brake while it's in gear, downshift, repeat (don't do this when not in S mode).

BTW all, I'll probably be in attendance at the upcoming meet. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Thanks for the input. That's what I expected. I don't normally, I'm just putting the car through the ringers, sort of tinkering with it.

TypeOne 01-10-2012 09:49 AM

That is how the S mode works... you'll get used to it when you drive more. That was one of the first things that I noticed, if you play with it, it will shoot to redline.

It also watches your speed, clutch, brake and throttle inputs. So if you are going to slow down, push the clutch in, put it in neutral and let out of the clutch and the revs should drop down.

How do you like it so far? Man I love blue. :-D

TypeOne 01-10-2012 09:52 AM

Side note... this was released yesterday.

2015 NSX. It's going to be awesome. I hope.

KaienZ34 01-10-2012 09:54 AM

Damn that's hot. TT mid engine?? :ugh2:

neurocache 01-10-2012 10:09 AM

Holy crap. Great scoop, but I much more rather that they didn't scrap plans for a production model of the HSV-010 GT.

TypeOne 01-10-2012 10:16 AM

No turbos...

Specs haven't officially been released, but it should be something similar to this.

420hp NA mid engine V6
100(est) hp through front electric motors that control the wheels.
Combined power of around 500

use Hondas Hybrid SH (super handling AWD system)

Here is a cool video to watch.

Where's the upcoming meet?

r1010220 01-10-2012 08:31 PM

I never drove one until now. Never thought it would be able to hug corners like an STI maybe better :-)

r1010220 01-11-2012 10:36 AM

Do you guys hold any meets at the lakefront in Metairie?
It has reopened, maybe we can get together on this. A small summer meet there would be cool. BBQ an stuff.

TypeOne 01-11-2012 11:06 AM

Normally no... but there are meets there a few times a year with a variety of cars. Put it this way, the last lakefront meet I went to had people in cars doing donuts and racing down the road.

My STi would understeer bad... you really can feel the AWD system, not to mention the turning radius sucked. :icon17:

I love my Z, it's hands down the most fun car I've ever owned... and my STi made over 500whp. :icon14:

TypeOne 01-11-2012 11:10 AM

Man, I shouldn't post again.. but if you want to roll out to the meet with us this Saturday, feel free. It's going to be a lot of (younger) people going with Z's and G's so just be prepared. I say it like I'm old... I'm 26, but a lot of the people going are younger than us.

I think Kaien, Punk86 are meeting at my shop and then we are going to meet up with Windex and roll out to laffy.

r1010220 01-11-2012 11:16 AM

Ya I'm 26 also lol. Haven't been to a meet since import face off many of years ago lol

TypeOne 01-11-2012 11:22 AM

LOL cool, well if you are free on Saturday, meet up with us. The other guys are coming from NOLA as well. I'll PM' you my cell #.

r1010220 01-11-2012 11:31 AM

Sounds like a plan

Punk86 01-11-2012 12:33 PM

I will actually be coming from Hammond Saturday. I am going to visit my parents in the morning before all the fun goes down.
