No doubt, the Reason you are here is because you are a Proud Z Owner looking for like minded Z enthusiasts who share your appreciation for the Z Sport Car.

So, Who and What is the Gulf Coast Z Club, and most important of all, Why the Gulf Coast Z Club?

First a brief history on our inception, or a look at ‘Who’ we are: On Saturday Dec 8, 2012, a new Z Club was born at Stingrays Bar & Grill on West Esplanade in Kenner, Louisiana. The new club was named the “Gulf Coast Z Club” with its base being Louisiana, it also encompasses Mississippi and Alabama, and open for inclusion of other adjoining Gulf Region States. The Club is formed by Z enthusiasts who share a passion for the Z Sports Car and a Pride of Ownership that goes beyond the limits of age groups or a particular focus. Our Group spans younger members in their late teens, 20′s, 30′s, 40′s, 50′s and even beyond.

So, as diverse in age groups as we are, what is it that brings us together successfully, and grows our club? What is the Focus of the Gulf Coast Z Club?

We are not a Racing Type Club, a Show Type Club, an Age or Gender based Club, or a ‘Cultural’ Type Club – what we are is founded in our love of our Z Cars – our Pride in ownership, our passion for driving a superb Sports Car, an Icon of the road that turns heads and brings nods of appreciation from other drivers, and to further promote the Z Sports Car to other like minded individuals. But most of all, it is the camaraderie of being with other Z Enthusiasts, to enjoy a get together where one can see close up the history of the Z and compare original with new, to be able to discuss the details of a Stock Z or a modified Z amongst ourselves and find answers to questions about our vehicles that help us maintain them mechanically or aesthetically. To promote all of this, we hold regular meetings that bring us together to discuss Club particulars, Cruises to enjoy driving our Sports Cars to different events and venues, Tech Shops to educate us further about our cars, as well as organize trips for major Z events such as ZATTACK in Nashville, Tennessee, ZDAYZ in Branson Missouri, or other conveniently located major events that are within a weekend’s drive from our Club’s base location.

Our club is also a Member Club of the Z Car Club Association (ZCCA) which holds many advantages to our Club Members such as discounts with various Z Parts Vendors, provides for Insurance coverage for our Events, National Z Convention registration discounts, and being associated with a national organization with direct communication to Nissan North America just to name a few.

So finally, Why Gulf Coast Z Club? It is because it is essentially Your Club for Your Z. That is our focus, our mission, and our goal.

So, Welcome Z Owner to Your Club. We hope to see you and our Z at our next meeting!

UPDATE as of 11.17.13
CLOSING YEAR 2013: MINI-ZDAYZ 2013 at HAROLD’s in PRAIRIEVILLE!

On Saturday, Nov 16, 2013, the Gulf Coast Z Club (GCZC) “Annual” Mini-ZDAYZ at Harold’s in Prairieville, LA was held, closing the year in a Grand Get-Together, Camaraderie, and Feasting on Turkey and Trimmings of all kinds. Participants brought these goodies with them while Harold provided and cooked the Turkeys and, of course, hosted the event in his own backyard. A Great time was had by all.

After the event, the GCZC officers held a meeting and discussed the direction of the club for next year. Changes were voted on and passed based on the performance of the club during this past year and the need to continually improve the Club’s offerings to its members by way of benefits and events hosting. Additionally, with the closing of the year, nominations of next year’s officers are now being requested.

Here are the highlights of the meeting:

1. MEMBERSHIPS: Memberships offered by the club are now changed to reflect an ‘Individual’ membership level and a ‘Family’ membership level. The ‘Associate’ membership will no longer be offered. The ‘Individual’ membership for the year is raised to $35.00, and the ‘Family’ membership is set at $50.00. These Yearly Memberships will reflect the added Member benefit of an Online Subscription toZ Car Club Magazine which offers write-ups on the Z Family of cars from the 240Z to the 370Z and beyond, as well as cover the Club’s events. Additionally, a limited number of hard copies of the Magazine will be made available to Club Members on a First Come, First Served basis at our meetings/events. Other Benefits of a paid membership will still be in effect such as car parts At Cost from LeBlanc Nissan in Gonzalez. [NOTE: Membership Dues are now due for the Year 2014: PLEASE FILL OUT AN UPDATED MEMBERSHIP FORM found on the GULFCOASTZCLUB.COM Membership Page of the website and send with a Check or Money Order to the address listed on the form As Soon As Possible]

2. MEETINGS: In order to further promote attendance and make events more exciting, the Club will only hold Quarterly meetings in 2014 in which old and new business will be discussed and voted on by the membership. This move will allow the club to schedule Events and Get-Togethers in the interim months based on other events that are being held in and around the area, such as Events at NOLA Motorsports, No Problem Raceway, as well as events in Mississippi such as Cruising the Coast.

3. FACEBOOK PAGE: The Facebook Page will be further promoted in order to schedule and coordinate events with the other Z-Groups in the area such as the VQ-Crewe, and the Louisiana Z Club. This will require an Events Coordinator who will keep up the page and its web-links current and coordinate the events accordingly.

4. OFFICER NOMINATIONS: The Nominations are now open for the following Club Officers. Nominations can only be made by Club Members, and the Nominees have to be Club Members. The Nominations are open for the following positions:

a. PRESIDENT
b. VICE PRESIDENT
c. TREASURER
d. CLUB SECRETARY

The Position of Events Coordinator, although Critically Needed, is not part of the Nomination Process. The positions above reflect the ZCCA requirements for our Club to remain in Good Standing so that we can take advantage of their crucial benefits such as Club Liability Insurance for Events, and Discounts at certain major car suppliers such as Z1 Motorsports and WOLF Technologies.

Please e-mail all Nominations to Rick Gutierrez (gutzy847@yahoo.com) and Harold Wikman (hlwikman@juno.com) AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

It surely has been a GREAT First Year for the Gulf Coast Z Club, with Multiple Grand events such as Hog Heaven in Mississippi in March, LeBlanc Nissan in Gonzalez in April, F&D in Alabama in May, Tin Roof Brewery in Baton Rouge in June, Times Bar & Grill in Slidell in July, Hard Rock Café in Mississippi in August, and of course, Harold’s Mini-ZDAYZ in November to close out the year on a high note…! Bottom line, it is you, the individual club member, who has made this a successful club with a successful year. The Club owes you a Heartfelt Thanks, and we look forward to an even greater year with you and your Z in 2014!

...and now, for pictures from the event, you’re going to have to go to the website at : Events and other stuff thats happening! | Gulf Coast Z Club

…and to all our current members, prospective members, and friends and acquaintances from the other Z-Groups – Happy Holidays to all of you, and hopefully you are on Santa’s Good List so he can bring your Z something for Christmas…!

We are certainly proud of it and looking forward to growing it and making it successful!

By the way Z-Girl, when will you be joining us? Alabama is not too far from Florida, and a Cruise to Florida would not be out of the question for the club either... wanna be our first Florida member...?

Dude - You got the new Logo already..??:ughdance:
uh.. further confusion - it looks like it says "Gulf South"... Am I not reading it right?

bucketman 12-11-2012 10:20 PM

Sorry, got excited. Will replace it with new image when I get it from
Mike.

I am on the look out for a rear 370Z 19” (Sport Package) rim. Anyone happen to know of anyone looking to swap out their OEM Rays Rims for aftermarket by any chance? The reason for this is a curb jumped up and took a bite of my right rear rim yesterday. It looks pretty nasty. I’m gonna take the car to a rim repair shop in Metairie (X-a-Dent by Bonnabel) where Z IT GO took his for repairs and they look great. Just not sure it is repairable judging by how nasty it looks. :shakes head: :wtf2:

Sorry I and Hil were not able to be there. We were on vacation in the Bahamas. I will try my hardest to show my face around the next time there is a meet. If there wasn't a guy present by the name of Ike, I will try to bring him with me. He also has a 2012 NIMSO. I dig the emblem for the club... But I have just one comment about it. I am not trying to offend the creator, but if the inside blue design was meant to be the symbol for a hurricane, it has got to spin the opposite direction. Just my :twocents:. Any which way you cut it, I want one.

bucketman 12-17-2012 07:11 PM

Let's call it a cyclone, I think they spin the other way!

bucketman 12-17-2012 10:11 PM

How do you like it now!?!

Possible April Cruise to Three Sisters in Texas

LadieZ and GentZ,

Keep this date in your calendar as tentative: April 13th & 14th, the San Antonio Nissan/Infinity Club is hosting a cruise to Three Sisters in conjunction with the NISMO Fiesta 2013 "festival".

Excerpt: "... if you are a new rider or are a cautious type, then you DO NOT belong on these three roads. They follow canyons and climb over jagged, steep and crumbling hills. They have many tight twisty curves with shear drop offs and not much in the way of guard rails. In one section about 15 miles long, there are around 65 curves. If you are an experienced rider, then this is the ride for you. If you like scenic panoramic views, bring your camera, take this ride and hold on!"

Tentaive plan MAY be a Friday early morning (5am start from the Covington area, pick up BR & NO/Metairie/Kenner Z's in BR, then Lafayette Z's, and Lake Charles Z's and continue on to San Antonio, TX (a 500 mile trip). We'll have to have a block of Hotel Rooms already booked for a Friday Nite/Sat Nite stay, and we cruise back on Sunday 14th.

Pending our Website becoming available soon, Keep an eye on this thread. Once things clear up more, I'll post a separate NISMO FIESTA/THREE SISTERS Cruise Thread and we'll start getting registrations for those who want to participate. :tiphat:

PS - This does coincide with our Club Meeting for the Month of April.
