GCZC March 16 Meeting

Attachment 65247 At the Mississippi Welcome Center, yes the Stang is a bona fide member of the club. He has a 350 but it is all set up for the track
Attachment 65245 Hog Heaven's parking lot Attachment 65246 Hog Heaven's parking lot Our Meeting yesterday was an huge success. We had 16 attendees, two new members, and 10 Z's at Hog Heaven in Mississippi. The weather cooperated perfectly, and the cruise was enjoyed by all, with some spirited driving on the interstate. All participants drove responsibly and patiently though when traffic dictated it. Hog Heaven on the beach was a great dining place. Service was a little slow, but I think with 16 persons descending on them at one time overwhelmed them a little. The meeting stressed the following: 1. Treasurer's report: Funds are needed at this time so we can finalize filing for our Non-Profit Status, and then we can open up a Club Checking account. To do this, we will be holding a 50/50 raffle at LeBlanc Nissan, as well as setting up a booth to greet new (and existing) Z'ers and encourage them to join the club 2. All members received a ZCCA sticker as we are now officially part of the Z Car Club Association. 3. Events: Our next huge event is LeBlanc Nissan. LeBlanc Nissan in Gonzalez puts on a first rate event, providing food, drinks, DJ/Live Music, Tee-Shirts, Door Prizes as well as prizes for the best Z's in the show. Other clubs will also be attending: members of the VQ Crew and Louisiana Z Club will be there as well. 4. Future events, during the summer months, possibly a Brewery Tour in Baton Rouge, and then during the cooler months later in the year (Sept/Oct) an event at NOLA motorsports. 5. Our webpage has had some additional features added recently. We now have an applications page as well as an Events Page. 6. Our Facebook Page will be more closely monitored and foul language or derogatory Posts will be scrubbed immediately and the member blocked. Fair warning has been given. Our biggest focus at the moment is to increase our membership and to raise funds so we can meet our expenses. I'd like to encourage everyone on this Forum to consider becoming a Member, with the spouses/Significant others becoming Associate Members. We also have a need for a Club Secretary at this time, if anyone has the skills and desire to participate in our organization, please let us know! Next event is the St Jude Poker Run in Covington on March 23rd. Please see First Post of this thread for further information on participating in this very worthy event. And then, April 20th at LeBlanc Nissan... :tiphat: |
How I wish we could have been there. I know excuses are like a$$holes, but we are just slammed with preparing to build our new house. It seems like all our spare time is dedicated to that lately. We will make it one day.

Good luck on the house, however. We do understand there are priorities in people's lives. Hope to see you at the LeBlanc Nissan Event on April 20th though. That is a big one, and right here in our backyard! |

Okee dokee, althought we have not had anymore members join:shakes head:, I am going to pretend we are still going to grow. With that in mind I have beat the bushes and started to make it rain for the Leblanc car show. We have big banner and signage, GCZC stickers, I hit Meguiars up for some sponsorship and got a big box of leather wipe packets. Thanks Meguiars.
Of course Leblanc is going to kick it up a notch also. So lets make sure we show up in force for the show. Paul, take these pics and info and post it where you will.Attachment 66390 Attachment 66391 Attachment 66392Harold |

LeBlanc Nissan Z Event 2013

First off, apologies for the delayed write-up and update on this Event. I've had to deal with a Medical Emergency in the past few days which thankfully has been resolved now and all is well.
Being that is the case, I'd like to share the write-up from our Facebook Page with the members on here regarding the show. I'd just add that we had close to 30 Z's of all Generations (S30, Z31, Z32, Z33 and Z34) and the GCZC picked up about 7 new members at the show. A New GCZC Member won the 50/50 pot which was about $74, so his membership and his gas were paid for, and he had some left after that as well... Anyways - here is the write up from our FACEBOOK page: Well All, it was an absolutely beautiful day today for our 9th Annual Price Leblanc Z Car Show. Turn out was great with most models represented (Dave, you didn't bring thr GT-R?!). The folks at Price Leblanc did an outstanding job once again hosting the event. Everyone received an event t-shirt (always one of the highlights is the design on the shirt, and this year did not disappoint.) I think everyone even won a door prize or event gift from Aluminum Nismo Coffee mugs to Z Hats to Zero Gravity Lawn Chairs! Looking forward to the 10th Annual event next year already. Thanks to everyone for showing up and representing the Club. Shout out to the VQ Krewe who represented well (as usual.) And a very special Thank You to the Folks at Price Leblanc Nissan. And here are the pictures of the winners (I'll have to come back and post pictures of the Z's soon!) Attachment 67632 Attachment 67633 Next event looks like to be in Mobile, Alabama (Time and Place to be announced soon) - this will be a Cruise Event - so mark your calendars, shine up your Z's, change the oil, check the tires and come on out to enjoy your Ride! :driving: :happydance: |

GuyZ & GalZ,
No sooner do we complete one Grand Event at LeBlanc Nissan (check out the Youtube Video posted by members of the VQ Crew The Twinz's - YouTube), than another Grand Event for the Gulf Coast Z Club comes up. This time, a cruise of a few hours long to an Auto Shop specializing in working on Z's of all Generations, where we will hold our meeting and have a Show-and-Tell Workshop by a master Z mechanic. This is your chance to have an open forum with a specialist who can provide all the information you wanted about a Z but were afraid to ask! So clear up your Calendars for Saturday May 18, and shine up your Z and get it ready to cruise the Gulf Coast to Mobile Alabama with the rest of the Crew... Our Itinerary is as follows: 1. Both North Shore and South Shore New Orleans area Groups will meet up at the Stennis Center Exit in Mississippi (Exit 2) at the Rest Area/Welcome Center, where we will launch to Mobile with the full compliment of Z's. Time of Launch 9:30am Sharp from Covington, arriving at Stennis Welcome Center at 10pm. Leave Stennis Welcome Center at 10:15am Sharp 2. On the way to the Auto Shop, we will stop at Lambert's Restaurant in Foley Alabama at around 1pm for a scrumptious meal of unbelievable uniqueness and proportions- I've been there and it is truly an experience. You will not leave there hungry... 'nuff said. FINAL MEETING of the Year, NEXT YEAR'S BUSINESS...
CLOSING YEAR 2013: MINI-ZDAYZ 2013 at HAROLD’s in PRAIRIEVILLE! After the event, the GCZC officers held a meeting and discussed the direction of the club for next year. Changes were voted on and passed based on the performance of the club during this past year and the need to continually improve the Club’s offerings to its members by way of benefits and events hosting. Additionally, with the closing of the year, nominations of next year’s officers are now being requested. Here are the highlights of the meeting: 1. MEMBERSHIPS: Memberships offered by the club are now changed to reflect an ‘Individual’ membership level and a ‘Family’ membership level. The ‘Associate’ membership will no longer be offered. The ‘Individual’ membership for the year is raised to $35.00, and the ‘Family’ membership is set at $50.00. These Yearly Memberships will reflect the added Member benefit of an Online Subscription to Z Car Club Magazine which offers write-ups on the Z Family of cars from the 240Z to the 370Z and beyond, as well as cover the Club’s events. Additionally, a limited number of hard copies of the Magazine will be made available to Club Members on a First Come, First Served basis at our meetings/events. Other Benefits of a paid membership will still be in effect such as car parts At Cost from LeBlanc Nissan in Gonzalez. [NOTE: Membership Dues are now due for the Year 2014: PLEASE FILL OUT AN UPDATED MEMBERSHIP FORM found on the GULFCOASTZCLUB.COM Membership Page of the website and send with a Check or Money Order to the address listed on the form As Soon As Possible] 2. MEETINGS: In order to further promote attendance and make events more exciting, the Club will only hold Quarterly meetings in 2014 in which old and new business will be discussed and voted on by the membership. This move will allow the club to schedule Events and Get-Togethers in the interim months based on other events that are being held in and around the area, such as Events at NOLA Motorsports, No Problem Raceway, as well as events in Mississippi such as Cruising the Coast. 3. FACEBOOK PAGE: The Facebook Page will be further promoted in order to schedule and coordinate events with the other Z-Groups in the area such as the VQ-Crewe, and the Louisiana Z Club. This will require an Events Coordinator who will keep up the page and its web-links current and coordinate the events accordingly. 4. OFFICER NOMINATIONS: The Nominations are now open for the following Club Officers. Nominations can only be made by Club Members, and the Nominees have to be Club Members. The Nominations are open for the following positions: a. PRESIDENT b. VICE PRESIDENT c. TREASURER d. CLUB SECRETARY The Position of Events Coordinator, although Critically Needed, is not part of the Nomination Process. The positions above reflect the ZCCA requirements for our Club to remain in Good Standing so that we can take advantage of their crucial benefits such as Club Liability Insurance for Events, and Discounts at certain major car suppliers such as Z1 Motorsports and WOLF Technologies. Please e-mail all Nominations to Rick Gutierrez (gutzy847@yahoo.com) and Harold Wikman (hlwikman@juno.com) AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. It surely has been a GREAT First Year for the Gulf Coast Z Club, with Multiple Grand events such as Hog Heaven in Mississippi in March, LeBlanc Nissan in Gonzalez in April, F&D in Alabama in May, Tin Roof Brewery in Baton Rouge in June, Times Bar & Grill in Slidell in July, Hard Rock Café in Mississippi in August, and of course, Harold’s Mini-ZDAYZ in November to close out the year on a high note…! Bottom line, it is you, the individual club member, who has made this a successful club with a successful year. The Club owes you a Heartfelt Thanks, and we look forward to an even greater year with you and your Z in 2014! ...and now, for pictures from the event, you’re going to have to go to the website at : Events and other stuff thats happening! | Gulf Coast Z Club …and to all our current members, prospective members, and friends and acquaintances from the other Z-Groups – Happy Holidays to all of you, and hopefully you are on Santa’s Good List so he can bring your Z something for Christmas…! |
