It's basically a road course marked with cones and they time you. You can find more info and some video here....

Autocross

Big J 07-20-2010 08:14 AM

If you need any parts, hit up my friend at wolfchase Honda/ Nissan. His name is kenny and will give you a good price on parts.

busterbs3 07-20-2010 10:28 AM

I just want a cai and Cbe but I don't want any warranty issues. Any advice

Big J 07-20-2010 10:31 AM

I posted my brand new cb for sale, local pick up would be awsome. I don't think the dealer would give you a hard time about a catback, but it really takes like 1-2 hours to bolt up so putting the stock one on shouldn't be a problem. I know some guys at wolfchase Honda, I think a cb would be ok.

busterbs3 07-20-2010 01:19 PM

I really like the car. I just hate that we even have to ask if a cb will cause warranty issues :( or an intake. What is your cb and how what are you asking?

hey guys just got back from nashville .. time to get a a meet set up eh? i saw a blue z on g-town parkway a few days ago ?

busterbs3 07-20-2010 09:41 PM

i would like a meet up. i been going to the desoto civic center about 7 at night doing powerslides. still trying to get used to the short stance. its lots of fun

370zproject 07-20-2010 10:49 PM

must be nice to have $ to burn through the tires

Big J 07-20-2010 11:20 PM

Ohh yea, I'm burning the **** out of these tires. The sooner they are gone, the sooner I have an excuse for new rims and tires.

I'm up for hanging out. My schedule is kinda busy the rest of the week and weekend though.

Pheonix 07-21-2010 12:29 AM

Same here; I'm down for a meet, but I'm not going to burn through tires. Not for lack of money, I just don't have a desire for power slides. Got that out of my system early on and in my last car, lol. Saturdays and Sundays off for the next month.

370zproject 07-21-2010 01:35 PM

ill get it outtta my system when i get my new rubber :)

busterbs3 07-22-2010 08:54 AM

My tires are already shot so why not have a fee fun moments. I have always enjoyed drifting or powerslides. It started with my 81 firebird, then 78 camaro, then 91 nsx (drunk driver smashed me into the median wall underneath the goodman bridge on 55 :( ) I have never done an autocross event. It looks like it just a lot of smash the brake and floor it. Smash the brake and floor it.
Have you guys done it before

Big J 07-22-2010 09:31 AM

I have. This past course was pretty fast so I can see what your saying. Usually it's alot more technical. Was your nsx white?

370zproject 07-22-2010 01:36 PM

mmm nsx was it green?

Big J 07-22-2010 02:54 PM

Saw a silver 370 yesterday on goodman close to 55.

370zproject 07-22-2010 03:20 PM

do u ever drive on g-town road? if so i may of seen you big j

busterbs3 07-22-2010 04:03 PM

My nsx was silver and my 370 is silver. I live in Southaven so maybe it was me you saw. Where is the next autocross going to be at. I would at least like to show up and check it out. If it's 101 out I doubt I will run my car

Big J 07-22-2010 05:02 PM

It's out at holly springs. I saw the silver pull onto that road beside wal mart from goodman. I live in Southaven off tchulahoma and goodman. Yes that's spelled right lol.

370zproject 07-22-2010 10:49 PM

you both live in southhaven?

Big J 07-22-2010 11:39 PM

Looks like it

busterbs3 07-23-2010 01:02 AM

i love the last part of tchulahoma when it meets church. Nice little twisty section . I think im down to go to holly springs. Is it at the dragway?

Big J 07-23-2010 08:12 AM

Yea it's at the dragway in the 2 parking lots. The chik fil a in olive branch, the owners daughter died in a bike wreck on that turn 2 weeks ago. I still like that turn though:)

370zproject 07-23-2010 11:04 AM

ouch

busterbs3 07-23-2010 03:08 PM

that turn was the first turn i ever touched my knee down on my 600rr :) i think i will definitely be going to holly springs. Since i have only had my car for a week now i was wondering if the 1st to 2nd gear shift was normally notchy?

Big J 07-23-2010 03:16 PM

Well I've only had mine for a couple weeks. I don't know what you mean by notchy. I came from driving built up mustangs and camaros and this thing is smooth compared to them lol.

busterbs3 07-23-2010 09:30 PM

maybe its just me. We need a road course around here. Has anyone done a track day at barber motorsports? I was close to buying the new camaro ss. i test drove 5 or 6 and i just couldnt fall in love with it. I tried really hard to, but i just couldnt

Big J 07-23-2010 09:53 PM

HAHA I was all about the ss until it came out, I loved my 99 ss vert with roll cage, cam, nitrous, etc.... but this new one was kinda dissapointing. So then I was waiting for the new 5.0 mustang but Homer Skelton wouldn't give me what I wanted for my trade. I randomly went by Landers Nissan on my off day end left with a 370 lol. Wife wasn't to happy about that.

made a good choice tho

busterbs3 07-23-2010 11:01 PM

i drove the 5.0 6sp sick power but i just fell in love with the 370 i just love how tight it is. Like i said my buddy has an sti and it takes a real car to keep up with him on the twisties

370zproject 07-23-2010 11:03 PM

yep the Z is that car :)

busterbs3 07-23-2010 11:09 PM

My k&n drop in filters will be here in the morning YAY!!! Now now before anyone starts in on the nay saying, i know there is not going to be a surge of power or anything but just a little better throttle response is all i wanted. I think im going to get the stillen cbe. anyone want to donate to the fund?

370zproject 07-23-2010 11:11 PM

lol were in memphis we all broke...
ill be doing gen 3 stillin probly

busterbs3 07-23-2010 11:15 PM

well i decided to to get the exhaust before the intake. Im really not impressed with the stock exhaust. It sounds good at 4,000 -5500 after that its just kinda course and buzzy. i would like to know if you feel like the gen 3 really gave you 14hp

370zproject 07-23-2010 11:17 PM

havent gotten it yet but i talked to another guy who got it he loves it

busterbs3 07-23-2010 11:44 PM

awesome

370zproject 07-23-2010 11:44 PM

yep just make sure u dont let the water blow up ur engine

Big J 07-24-2010 09:05 AM

what happened

busterbs3 07-24-2010 11:08 AM

damn dude that sucks!!! How bad?

Big J 07-24-2010 11:39 AM

I have never had a wreck in my life and I'm a pretty aggressive driver. I cant believe i did something this stupid. I pulled into my dads driveway this morning and thought I had plenty of room to get by his excursion, I guess I was wrong. I scraped my passenger rear fender on his front bumper. I'm down in pickwick right now but still feel like I'm going to throw up. I guess it's going to the shop Monday....
