DLo 07-16-2012 12:41 AM

Ok, I'm all signed up for the 29th. Will be my first real track day with my new Nismo! Can't wait.

Nice DLo. How brand new? Have you gotten an oil cooler and upgraded your brakepads?

Hi Cuban Z. I have approximately 700 miles on the odometer! I've done neither upgrade yet, but I understand the 2012 has an oil cooler. I do plan on replacing the brake fluid with Motul 600 before the event, but that is about it.

My goal is to learn the car this event. I have made the switch from a 2008 EvoX MR (w/ SST), so this is a significantly different experience for me (6 spe & rwd).

martin82 07-16-2012 05:47 PM

since ur doing brake fluid, might as well bleed the clutch too with motul 600

DLo 07-17-2012 09:54 AM

Sounds like a good idea. Will you guys be there on the 29th?

martin82 07-18-2012 01:19 PM

I don't think I can make it, I need to install seats, harness, harness bar, rear trailing arms bushings are shot and seems like some other bushings are dead too, install sway bar lateral collar, tranny flush, diff flush, oil change, order new tires....... and more LOL

Extremespeed 07-19-2012 12:50 AM

Discount code has just been extended till July 25

DLo 07-25-2012 12:03 AM

So is anyone besides myself going to this event? I get Motul 600 flushed into the brake lines and clutch this Saturday at Cobb SoCal. Can't wait to get on track!

martin82 07-25-2012 12:31 PM

sorry I can't make it, none of the stuff above was done LOL.

DLo 07-27-2012 10:03 PM

All good. Went to Cobb SoCal and got juiced up with Motul 600 in the brake lines and clutch. We'll see how things go Sunday. Hopefully the 2012 oil cooler is decent enough to prevent me from going into limp mode.

So how'd it go DLo?

martin82 07-31-2012 01:15 PM

It was a lot of fun, but super hot! The car has a lot more grip than I was expecting although I did almost spin out in the esses right after the skip pad (CCW). I ran a 1:38:1xx, which is slow, but driving a manual, RWD car is so foreign for me coming from an EvoX MR. I need to build trust and instinctual behavior with this car. Nothing a little more seat time can't handle! All in all, I was very impressed with the car and can't wait to get back out. Thinking about Buttonwillow on the 19th of Aug?
