Funny thing is on Sunday when I was heading out to Santa Clarita. I stopped at the Angeles Crest exit to gas up, and as I was waiting at the light, I saw a pair of chippy's on bikes coming down to get on the freeway. So there is a definite presence :(

You guys should be fine, especially since you're leaving early. And by the time you make it down to angeles crest to La canada, there is more than likely other cars on the road to slow you down anyhow.

I'd be worried about posting the route online though as sometimes cops browse the forums, but I'm paranoid like that.
