What Should I Do?

Do you think it is worth to drive to get a good deal( i mean like 3 hours or less) or settle with an okay deal close by such as local or max an hour and a half away? And keep in mind that whenever i have to go to the dealer i have to drive all the way back out their

kgreen 04-01-2009 10:15 PM

Take the drive. I drove 2 hours away to pick up my beauty for invoice price, plus they were the only dealer that had the vehicle the way i wanted. Those miles will help you get past the break-in period.

I bought a brand new '07 Z about two hours from where I lived and it is was such a pain! I had about two or three problems I had to get fixed in a course of one month and I dreaded driving there...waiting around...and then having to drive back! It took the whole day to fix little things...something went wrong with the audio and there goes my entire day off spent to fixing the Z! Honestly, unless you are saving thousands of dollars do NOT do it and save yourself some headaches! I actually ended up saving over $100/mo. by going to the dealer far away so I could grin and bear it, but for $500.00 I would have been kicking myself! When the vert Z comes out, you can bet I will be shopping locally!

Yes, you should be able to get the same service anywhere. Warranty issues are billed directly to Nissan. The only time that you should need to go back to the original dealer is if it was for an issue they created or for a part they added.

If you can negotiate well it wont be an issue, the issue is who has the car with the option that you want or if they'll dealer trade..... Also why would you pay a dime over invoice???

I've done it many times, it has never been an issue. Bought the car one place, serviced it at another. Just avoid dealer service contracts and you'll be fine.

If you don't want to drive 2-3 hours, you might want to give Connell Nissan a try. You might get lower than $500 over invoice there. I ordered mine from there for $300 over invoice.

I almost bought one from a dealer in Silver Springs Maryland, they were very aggressive on pricing.

so you're telling me that fontana gave you a quote that is lower? have you tried asking connell to match it? have you tried garden grove or any other places closer to you to match it... from what i heard OC dealerships are hurting because fontana, west co, and montclair are trying to sell as much so they can get the most shares of inventory on the next batch of delivery rolls out in so cal....

by the way, isnt connell only 45 minutes away from fontana...that's not that far... pay for the toll for $6 dollars.. and ur trip is cut down to half... im assuming ur coming from north sandiego county/south OC? why not take the 15? to 210?

lastly, you might also want to wait till the end of the month to ask them to match... the money you save from driving further dealer could be a stillen intake or berks hfc.... :twocents:

I remember your car :hello:. When you bought your car, EVERY single dealership was marking it up. I believe it was 1st week of January.

DJcuetip 04-08-2009 03:40 AM

hahaah yeah.. i couldnt wait for dealers to mark normal prices.. so i had to fly over there haha
