Malibu cruise

It is a distinct pleasure of having Malibu Canyon as well as all the other nice roads such as Mullholland Dr. right in our backyard, so why not participate in a Z Meet every month! Hang out with your fellow members as well as those who may not be on the forums for a rendezvous and a beautiful drive to finish off with a hearty lunch.

This is the drill for the regular Malibu Meet: Everyone attending will meet at the Malibu Country Mart (23387 Pacific Coast Highway, Malibu CA) at 7:00am on saturday mornings at the dates scheduled below. As soon as all those who will be attending show up, we will depart onto Malibu Canyon Rd and enjoy an "enthusiastic" drive through the Canyons of Malibu and beyond.

This does not have to be limited to Z cars; if anyone has friends that would like to tag along, that would be nice too regardless of make or model.

This is a monthly meet: the 2nd week of every month, Saturday mornings!

There is one tomorrow with the G37 group. Who's going?

Meet **Los Angeles Canyon RUN/MEET V 2.0** - MyG37

christian370z 08-21-2010 12:00 PM

Shoot, I would not be able to make that one... I would be willing to start organizing something regular up there if people are willing to commit, I still am learning all the roads up there but there are so many places to go.

phelan 08-21-2010 12:07 PM

i could be in on regular runs.

christian370z 08-21-2010 03:12 PM

Ok; I will add a standing list of those who might be interested and then I will gather the best times of the months (or year) that would work for most of the list.

Jamaica 08-21-2010 03:23 PM

which canyon?

christian370z 08-21-2010 04:57 PM

I really don't know if we would decide on just one route over and over, just for variety's sake. Theoretically, the run would start on Malibu Canyon Rd and could take many of the side roads. It would depend on the time of day and which day of the week in terms of using Mullholland Dr since it gets choked with stupid motorcycles with a death wish but that is always a great loop road to take. Coral Canyon Rd is very technical and the pavement is not the greatest, Puerco Mountainway is awesome too but I am sure you guys probably know some great routes so feel free to offer them up!

djamalt 08-21-2010 04:59 PM

I'm out there almost every weekend on my the motorcycle, and a lot of times i the Z. I'd be interested in rolling out, so put me down. There's a good chance I'll actually be in the canyons tomorrow with a buddy of mine who just got a Porsche. Depends on how my day/night goes. :tiphat:

It would be awesome if you were willing to come out, the more the merrier! It is also great to have someone who is knowledgeable about some routes to take as I am learning all the roads but am not 100% clued in to the area yet.

I will add you to the list. I am also going to get an in-car camera and will make a mount to record the runs even though my noob manual skills will get laughed at haha.

zero 08-21-2010 08:39 PM

Please put me on the list. If I am free I will roll with you guys.

djamalt 08-21-2010 10:40 PM

The skills will come to you in no time. Mine are still getting worked on. Since this is the first manual I've driven in over 12 years. Hell, when really driving in the canyons, I leave the VDC and rev match on 80% of the time!!!

But yeah with enough advance notice I should be able to make it out.

Nah, I don't think you could hang... Sorry.* Of course you are, I should have added you earlier so my apologies!

That is you being nice. I am proficient with shifting in a more relaxed driving environment but once I need to start really speeding up the process, I am not entirely comfortable yet. But I will adhere to the "practice makes perfect" philosophy, not like I need more of an excuse to drive the car. ;)

christian370z 08-21-2010 11:05 PM

Saturday vs. Sunday

Which one would work best for you guys?
