Southern California Clear Bra Installer

Preface: I have no affiliation with Aero Tect and this is the first time I have contracted their services. I explained to them that I would be photographing the process, and there are more photographs, but for the sake of brevity I chose ones that convey the results.

Our 370Z just completed its clear bra installation through Aero Tect.

Areas covered include:
  • Bumper
  • Headlights
  • Bikini Cut Hood with the hood piece being wrapped versus pattern cut to edge
  • Fender (to bikini line) and Mirrors
  • A-Pillar and Roof
  • Rear Wheel Impact Area (Aero Tect industry 1st)
  • Factory Splash Guard Impact Area (Aero Tect industry 1st)
Material: VentureShield Ultra

I was searching for an installer who had a shop as I prefer that versus doing in my garage or theirs—Aero Tect fit my criterion well with a dedicated bay, and the added bonus of all the equipment to cut needed the patterns in-house, plus design, and cut if necessary.

Since I wanted a bit more protection and in reviewing the car with Francisco Castillo (the shop owner), along with Jason, and Adi, they derived, designed, and made the first available (that I know of) Rear Wheel Impact Area kit for the large flanks on the wheel wheels opening just behind the doors! They are also designing a kit for the Nissan factory splashguards, both front and rear to help prevent the areas of impact from getting damaged from flying tire debris. Custom!

My wife and and I could not be more satisfied with the results. In fact I was so pleased (I was there during the installation that I asked them to custom cut one of their logos that we placed on the rear windshield. It is always great when matters go well as I always hesitate (read worry) when having to have work done to any of our vehicles.

I will be adding more photograph(s) shading the exact ares where the clear bra was applied (as I have in the rear impact area).

I recommend Aero Tect with no reservations as they are enthiuasts like us!

P.S. Watermarking the photographs with the Aero Tect logo was my idea (as I like to give credit to people for their work) and permission was granted for use on said photographs from Aero Tect.

Thanks guys! The splash guards came in late so I have to add those photographs. There is also another area on the Z they are working on with us to add even more protection to a very accessed space.

Nice looking install. I do have a question though. Why trim on the car for the fenders when there are kits out there that provide the same coverage? Xpel also has a kit for the rocker panels out. Have you thought of using their pattern and adding on the additional rear wheel impact area coverage? Would make a nice overall package...

Thanks!

Actually, the kits that are available appear to be non-wrapping kits. When possible we like to wrap the film around the front and sides of the hood, as well as the top of the fenders, thus making it a custom job that requires trimming.

Beyond that, even the best kits sometimes need trimming.

The Xpel rocker pannels cover the bottom section of what we did, plus continue all the way to the front wheel well. Rather than cutting the entire length, we just designed a rear only section with the upper portion as well. We can pretty much do anything, just a matter of what the customer wants vs. cost... We have Xpel, Proform, and Invisible Patterns software to choose from, but that doesn't mean that any one of them is always the best option.

Aero Tect did mention the rocker panel kit to me, but since we are installing the factory splash guards I felt we didn't need that specify kit; I might be wrong, but will find out over time (and chips).

how's the film quality as fas as smoothness? I have seen some cleaar-bra film with orange-peel of it's own - made the paint look even more orange-peel-like.

VentureShield has no Orange Peel. We carry a few different brands of film, and are more than happy to show our customers a side by side comparison.

I just got a clearbra package (same packaged as socal370z) done by them, and I just wanted to share with everyone it looks amazing. They did a wonderful job installing it. No orange peel or anything. I would definitely recommend this place to have a worry free install. (We all know having peace of mind in any car install is priceless)

Thanks again Jason and Francisco, it was a pleasure!

Chris
