Sheriff told me they have been having issues with meets in Cerritos and has kicked us out of our spot even though we have nothing to do with the issues

I saw your Z Raf and wondered where you were, just try to stay away from the cop when you leave. I tried to reason with him but he said if 10 cars show up he was going to start ticketing. I tried to argue that we have been meeting here for 8 years but he wanted none of that

Unfortunately it had nothing to do with any meets ever at the Towne Center but meets in general in the city of Cerritos.

Going forward we will be meeting at the Bobs Big Boy in Downey as our new location. Please update the first page of the thread with that info.

Wow, that really sucks. Shitty that the had to lump us in with all the other bad apples. We've had such a good reputation for years, and to overlook that is just wrong. A good way to lose respect for law enforcement.

So what law is out there that says ten or more cars can be cited? And in what proximity to each other do they have to be? Have nine cars parked in one area and another nine a couple lanes away :)

This is crap. Although I don't get out as much as I use to, it is where I've met some very good friends and would hate to see it move. Now I've got to change the "370Z Cerritos meet" gps tag in my car! Lol

I am pretty sure the tickets are mainly for: 1. no front license plate. 2. tinted windows. 3. illegal mods/parts, etc. etc.

Yeah that's why i left last night after wais tried to reason with the cop....to top it off when wais and i were walking back to our cars the cop was already running our plates as he sat in his patrol car sitting in front of our cars....what an *** is all i can say, and good luck to him digging any crap up on either wais or myself

Was he a new cop? A bit of a control freak?

My sources say that unless there is a sign posted saying no loitering or if permission was not given to congregate (which Waizz does), then there is no legal grounds for breaking the meet up on private property. So now only unmodded cars can go and let the cops waste their time checking us out. What a bunch of dycks!

I think wais said he didnt recognize him, but yeah wais even told him we had been meeting there for the last 8 years but the cop wasnt having any of it and even told us he had called in another patrol unit which promptly showed up a few minutes later

I was literally 2 minutes from leaving my place with the girl I was going to be bringing along and then out of randomness my friend showed up at my place with a family situation between him and his wife. By the time he left it was almost 9:30 and decided not to go at that point. Just stayed at home and pulled one of those "Netflix and chill" moments with the girl I was with and she stayed over.

Guess my friend showed up for a couple reasons.

Sucks that this has happened at the Cerritos location. Seems like if there was a new cop involved that they would just blow an outstanding agreement between business and congregate. I know many of the last times I have attended the sheriff's would be waiting there or drive through at 8pm and give us a warning right off the bat. Every time they would mention something about some civics, s2ks and acura's doing (what the sheriff had described as) burnouts and rev battles... which almost makes what they cops said funny, but then remembering in retrospect the ricers killed it for everyone again.

As for the new location in Downey and Bob's Big Boys, I am excited to see the newer car scene making it's mark. The BBB is the original car drive in version and holds classic car meets every Sunday morning/afternoon and a bunch of other random days too I believe.
Within the last 2 years, the city has renovated the Downtown Downey area which is turning out very well. Cannot wait to see what is planned for the rest of the city if it has turned out this well already.

I have had similar conversations with deputies in the past but I always told them that we are all mature people and we won't cause a problem so they leave but caution me that if they get called out because of a complaint they will tell us to leave

This time was totally different, he was waiting even before I got there at 7:30pm, their plan was to not allow us to meet at all no matter what I told him so really there was no arguing with him

As the OG's know we have met at BBB on many occasions without incident and because I know several of the management staff they are always happy to have us there since we bring them extra business

We will see how it goes at BBB and worst case I try to find us another spot. No matter what I'm not going to let this meet go away since it's still something I look forward to every month. We might just have to keep our options open and see how next months meet goes. I have a couple of alternate spots that we may use if we need to

I'm not sure if it's just me, today I saw like 6 people get pulled over on the fwy and another on surface streets. Something is up?

Stupid sideshows have something to do with this too. I've seen donut trails even on fwys. Stupid people ruining it for everyone else.

I think it has something to do with the cheap price of gasoline. It's been encouraging the more immature drivers to drive more recklessly

I'm just shocked that we had nothing to do with any of the issues but are being lumped in them even though it is from another location all together.

No worries though, since this meet is no longer 40+ cars like it was back at it's peak it allows us to be more flexible where we hold it

I have been driving no faster than the speed limit this entire week because it has been like that here in Torrance since Sunday. Cops are everywhere and huntin' hard. I mean usually there is a 5-10mph grace that cops give cause it could be from the speed of traffic, just could not tell you were driving that fast; and I usually on avg am about 5mph over sometimes lower.

Since Sunday I have found myself driving 5mph below or the speed limit plenty of times and then I continue down the street and there is a cop around the corner with a speed gun.

Just this morning as I made my left onto Sepulveda, I had already seen the cops coming down the street, but I merged as I usually would and was next to them.
For the next 4 miles until I was about to cross into Redondo, I had a cop to my right and a copy behind me.
Almost like a police escort... except sketchier... :ugh2:
