I got a ticket from CHP for not having a rear license plate (the plate got mailed to my house in Irvine, but I live away from home due to school).

Christmas came early this year. $174 ticket. Woohoo!!

I'm inclined to leave the dealer tag and the dealer registration window cling on my car until I get told otherwise. My landlord claims he's been doing that for years with no problem. He's got a Vette and a Benz SLK that he does this with. My question is, how about parking in lots when you go out of town? Does a dealer tag make your car stand out to potential thieves/vandals? And do you think that would be a fix it ticket too if you get pulled over?

Damn, didn't you show the CHP your student ID? I milked my student ID into the ground during my college years. Paid off handsomely (the ID and the degrees)!

Had a friend that did that for almost two years...then he got pulled over. The sh!t hit the fan with all kinds of violations, and it didn't help that he kept trying to contest the officer.

student id's work? holy ****...i should have tried that..wait does it work for speeding?

If you really think about it, the dealer sticker (registration) never expires. If the cops do some digging (rare) they can cite you for not putting on the plates your car.
Z bracket FTW. Got mine the same week I got my plates.

I know I'm relatively new here, but why visit threads whose topic you hate? And then once visited, why bother to post? I'm not trying to argue, I'm just really curious about that.

I would use a temp setup.. I've seen a mesh grill and zip tied on.
