"If" it was a real cashiers check issued by the bank from funds in his account................ but, since it is no good, it is either a real cashiers check that was stolen and the amount and signatures forged, or, it is a fake cashiers check created probably via computer, and once again filled out and signed, but the entire thing a forgery, check itself as well as info, account number, etc.

Usually they want you to make the report in the city where the crime occured, so you might be calling Irvine PD. I hope you get your money or the douche goes to jail, or both!

I spoke with my friends lawyer today, he told me that what probably happened was he gave me the check, it cleared 2 days later, i gave him the go to pick up clutch, then he canceled/froze the check, so it bounced in my account 2 days later.

I am compiling all the info i can right now of the guy, because the lawyer has a good friend that works with the fed and he will try to track him down for me.. and once he gets his true identity, will put bad credit under his name so if he ever gets a job, or a loan, or anything requiring credit check, he will be denied til he clears my report.

okay this might come a little late but i actually know this fool. i don't really know him now but we went to the same elementry school together. a douchebag in those days and as well as now, as it seems.

i've actually have friends from my elementry school days and we still keep in touch and the last time we talked about him, my buddies mention that this guy basically took the wrong path and the police even knows about him. why? apparently, he has committed some crimes and they told me that his picture was even posted at local police stations in his area.

so yeah, file a police report. sorry but i didn't read the whole thread, i saw the name and i had to write and talk about it.

OK I have a good idea how this goes since I have to deal with this crap all the time. First, is it a NSF check or account closed? Most departments have a very hard time dealing with this type of crime, and most have a bottom line amount as to when they will look into this crime. My dept. states it has to be over $100.00 for us to go after it if its NSF. Account closed , we look at right away, no matter the amount. If this guy has lots of NSF out, then normally it will be taken at any amount and added to the mess. Its a very hard crime to process and prove. Anything at all you do on this should be documented, IE: dates, times, who where , you get the idea. Many depts. will ask that you make attempts first to get your money so document any attempts. If you have an addrsss on this guy, send him a certified letter demanding payment and set a date. Make sure you get a recpt. for the pick up if he really goes and gets it. That all goes to your documentation. "If" you speak to him, dont take a partial payment unless your ready to have the local cops drop the case. All the money or nothing. Start payments and it becomes civil. Which reminds me you can also file a suit against him in your local small claims court, "if" you can get him served the papers to show up.There is lots more but space here will run out and heck he might be looking!You can e mail me direct and I can fax you the typical form letters to use to write to him and set up the case.
