Most if not all of the major freeways and highways in SoCal is packed in rush hour. Where ever your job is located might be a good idea to stay close by, if not expect to have an hour or an hour and a half of driving.

As a person who has commuted to work 100 miles round trip a day for the past three and a half years.. find a job down here first. You should secure a job and see what city/area it's in first, then find a place that fits your budget and isn't ridiculously far away from your work. Saving a couple hundred bucks might not be worth being stuck in traffic for hours everyday and wanting to kill yourself on the 405 freeway.
