ZATTACK 2012 Z Car Show, Nashville, April 13-14
The Middle Tennessee Z Club and Nissan North America, Inc. are pleased to announce that ZATTACK 2012 will be held Friday and Saturday, April 13 - 14 in the Nashville area. For those who have not participated in previous ZATTACKs, we promise a fun filled two days for Z car enthusiasts, Nissan fans and gear heads in general. This is also a great opportunity to take in the sights and sounds of Music City USA, Nashville, Tennessee. The events begin Friday afternoon, April 13 at 2 pm with a group tram tour of the Nissan manufacturing facility in Smyrna, TN, which produces the Altima, Maxima, Xterra, Frontier and Pathfinder. The Nissan Company Store offers a great selection of shirts, caps and other licensed Nissan items at employee prices after the tour. Tours are limited to 50 people, so please register early. Friday evening the Middle Tennessee Z Club will host a catered BBQ dinner and exclusive private tour at the Lane Motor Museum (Lane Motor Museum- Nashville, TN) in Nashville from 6:30 – 9 pm. The museum houses part of the Nissan Heritage Collection, most of which is not normally available for public viewing, in addition to their eclectic collection of 150+ mainly European automobiles, motorcycles and oddities. Space is limited for this private event, so please register early. The ZATTACK 2012 People’s Choice Z Car Show will be Saturday, April 14 from 8 am to 3 pm in Franklin, TN at the Nissan Americas building, the U.S. corporate headquarters for Nissan North America, Inc. This is a Z only show. All registered ZATTACK entrants receive a ballot to vote for the award winners. Awards are given for all six generations of Z cars in both Stock and Modified classes, as well as awards for Best in Show, and Diamond in the Rough. Your Z car does not have to be a “show car” to enter. This is more about the people, participating and fun. We will also have raffles for products and services donated by our sponsors. As part of the event, Nissan will also host an employee open house for their corporate and manufacturing personnel from Franklin headquarters and in Smyrna and Decherd Tennessee, and cruise-in for employees and the public to exhibit their cars which is open to all makes and models. We expect a huge turnout for this, and based on past events, the variety of cars will be fantastic. In addition, Nissan will have an exhibit of new models, prototypes, show cars and Nissan Heritage Collection vehicles based on availability and corporate approval for public showing. Spectators are welcome. There is plenty of parking available. The event will be held rain or shine. In the event of rain, we will move the show into the parking garage. The Nissan Americas building will be open during the event for morning coffee, lunch in the dining room at The Grill, rest room facilities, and the on-site Nissan Company Store will offer a great selection of licensed Nissan and Infiniti merchandise for sale. In order to give back to the community, we will be collecting cash and non-perishable food donations and the proceeds from designated raffle items will go to the Nissan-sponsored Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee, which fights hunger in 46 counties. Each dollar donated provides 4 meals! After the show, we will have a few hours of free time, and that evening, those who wish to will meet at the Athletic Club Sports Bar and Grill at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Franklin, which is near the Nissan Americas building for dinner, and to meet up with friends old and new. The Grill offers moderately priced meals in a great atmosphere. My GF loves Nashville so she defiantly wants to go. Were trying to work out the details now.

The Friday Nissan plant tour in Smyrna is close to being "SOLD OUT".
They're limiting us to only one tour due to some production changes that occur in the afternoons. |
Might have to investigate this further. Is there links on the website for suggested hotel booking?

Hotel Accomodations We don't have a "host" hotel because the prices in the area range from about $50 a night to $150+ per night and all the hotels listed area within a few miles of each other and Nissan's headquarters building. The Red Roof is about $60 booked online, the Embassy Suites about $150. Some people may choose to stay downtown or in the Opryland Hotel area, which are 20-30 minutes at the most from Nissan. Plus...we don't want to tell you how or where to spend your money. |
Any way i can register my G for the show? Whens the due date by the way?

Sorry. We are the Middle Tennessee Z Club, and we have only Zs in our club (with one GT-R owner, who will be at the Cruise-In). |
Guess i wont be showing up in my car

Seriously, we have only so many slots to fill at the Nissan plant and Lane Museum tours that we have to limit it to Z cars only. We did a similar event at Nissan in 2009 (the year before ZCON 2010) and it was also an all Z show with the cruise-in. There were Corvettes, BMWS, Supras, muscle cars, exotics and all kinds of Nissans there, most owned by Nissan emplyees. We have Nissan's blessing to do it this way. |
NOTICE:
THE 2 PM FRIDAY NISSAN SMYRNA PLANT TOUR IS SOLD OUT! We have added a second tour that begins at 1 PM at the plant. We will have a group leave from the Embassy Suites in Franklin at noon for the 1 PM tour, or you can meet us at the plant around 12:45. The tours start promptly and on time. |
Shameless plug for ZATTACK 2012 - April 13-14, 2012 - Franklin, TN (home of Nissan USA headquarters) - ZATTACK 2012 Web Site
I was a little surprised when it was announced that registration for this Z-Car multi-event weekend is only $40. Here are some of the things you get for your $40: - Factory tour of the Nissan plant on Friday afternoon in nearby Smyrna, TN - with access to the Nissan Company Store after the tour (Hurry and register soon as spots on this tour are limited). - Private Dinner Friday night at Lane Motor Museum in Nashville, which houses part of the Nissan Heritage Collection that is normally not on display, but sits in the basement storage. They don't let regular visitors in the basement - we're gonna get access as the place will be closed except for our private ZATTACK group. - During the Z-Car only car show at the Nissan USA Headquarters in Franklin, TN on Saturday morning, we will have access inside Nissan's US headquarters, including lunch inside. The last time I was inside there, they had an Infiniti Essence super car on display. - A second car show will be running in the parking lot next to the Z-Car car show on Saturday morning. This second one is for Nissan employees' cars only - there are a lot of car people at Nissan and this second show will have some cool stuff. - Of course you get a T-Shirt. As a relatively new member of the Middle Tennessee Z Car Club it really wasn't my place to tell the club bigwig organizers (Randy & Bob) that $40 is WAY too little to charge in a registration fee, but there you go. This is a huge bargain for all you get. Y'all come join us and the good folks at Nissan USA! ZATTACK 2012 Web Site |
To clarify the post above...
Lunch will be available in the Nissan cafeteria, bit is NOT included in the registration fee. The Grill accepts cash, credit or debit cards for lunch. The coffee shop will also be open prior to lunch. We met with Nissan again yesterday to finalize the logistics for the show. It should be great! The lobby currently has race cars in it, including Geoff Brabham's IMSA car, the original John Morton #46 Datsun 510 and the Pikes Peak Leaf! The Nissan Company Store is bringing in additional special merchandise they normally do not offer for the event, most of it "Z" related. We are expecting a record number of registrations based on what we've got so far! Thanks to everyone who has registered, and we hope many more of you will. |

I'd love to make this event having just added a 370Z to the stable, but I'm hosting a drag race event for Challengers in KY this same weekend.
Please keep me posted on future events. |
Challengers - the new ones are really bad A$$ looking. Keep your eye on the club web site for upcoming events: Middle Tennessee Z Club
Or, if you join the club (dues=$36/year which includes subscription to Nissan Sport Magazine), you'll get emails on every event and meeting. |

I'll look in to joining the club. |
We were at the Murfreesboro Cruise-IN last year a couple of times. We did a fundraiser for Second Harvest Food Bank there July 4th weekend last year.
As for ZATTACK, hope you'll sign up and join the club. We're planning a St Patrick's Day cruise to Erin, TN for their festivities on Saturday, March 17. We're leaving from Shoneys in Bellevue area off I-40 at 9:30 am. We have lined up some great raffles and prizes from our sponsors for the event. Z1 Motorsports has stepped up as usual (thanks Russell) as a sponsor and is planning to set up a display, and another vendor is bringing a 950 hp GT-R. |

HOWEVER.. as part of the Z car show at Nissan HQ on Saturday, April 12, Nissan North America, Inc. will again (as they did in 2012) host a Cars and Coffee-style cruise-in from 8am-3pm open to their employees and the public and open to all makes and models. There are no awards nor a fee to show off your car. Spectators are also welcome. Hope to see you there. Complete ZATTACK 2014 details should be "rolled out" next week, but it will basically be a repeat of ZATTACK 2012... with a few minor changes. |
Ok sweet. I work in the building right next to the HQ. I see it from my office. Ill see you there
