GA Mountain Run: May 1st After Caffeine and Octane

OKay figured i'd start a new thread on this.

Mountain Run.
Sunday May 1st.
Right after Caffeine and Octane.

Caffeine and Octane is at:

7730 North Point Parkway
Alpharetta, GA 30022

If you dont get there before 8, you will have to fight for parking. By 7, the lot is already quite busy.

I personally try to get there 7 ish.

Mountain Run: We will leave C&O at 9. We can all plan to fuel up at exit 14 or 15 at around 9:30 (if anyone wants to meet here instead of going to C&O).

I'll try and get an exact address for a good gas station around these exits.

Things to Note:

1. We want every to be safe and dont push yourself if your not comfortable.
2. Leave VDC on yo!
3. If people have 2-way radio's please bring them
4. We try to stick together, stop every so often for everyone to group up again.
5. Never pass in oncoming lanes.
6. Be respectful of other people using the roads.
7. Peeing out the windows and onto the Z/G behind you is frowned upon.
8. Be wary of road conditions. (Leaves/water/loose gravel = slippery ****)
9. I just wanted nine points.

Its a 4 hour drive for me and I lose an hour cause of the time change but I'm going to try and make it! At exit 14 or 15 is there a Shell gas station? If I make it I have a 2 way radio! Also like to point out that number 7 is just frowned upon but thats not saying forbidden!

Crap, I'll be in NYC getting in the last days of the Auto Show! :shakes head:

yup im going to try and find a shell/chevron (my preference :p)

Yeah man i hear ya on the drive. its always nice to see someone have that enthusiasm. You really should try to wake up the Bama guys and get things going there too. Im sure you'd love an event where it only took you 30 minutes to get there :p

We dont have any Bama guys lol, I see few 350z now that its spring and only one 370z roadster. And I have not seen a 350 or 370 owner that will wave back or even look at me. They are all old and rich people. Thats what I hate about alabama that the people are either honda ricers, muscle car heads, people that baby their corvette's, or stuck up rich people that wont even say Hi if you tell them nice car. Lol it seems like all the car people around North Alabama hate my car.

Definitely down for this. Doesn't look like too many G guys will be coming from the looks of things. I'll be buying a pair of walkie talkies this week.

I'll try to hit the next one. I went yesterday and had some good fun. It's nice to smell your brakes heating up. Good thing it was 58 degree.

I couldn't believe all the bicyclist up there. Barely any cars though. But they where all easy to pass. I had just swapped my sways to full stiff also. I love that setup the most. I also did some testing with VDC on and off. I'll tell you first hand that I always turn VDC off as soon as I crank my car. No comments please. But with VDC on it creates some nasty understeer for myself. I believe with the LSD I have and VDC on creates this the behavior. But with it off it was smooth sailing after that. The car handle wonderfully. It was the perfect amount of oversteer with the way I have "my car setup". Can't wait to go back.

Also with my big oil cooler it worked perfect. Never got to 215. But it's not hot yet.

What kind of pace are we going through the mountains? I'm not down for going full blast down straightaways.

SPOHN 04-25-2011 12:07 PM

Most groups will have the faster guys in the front and then another to follow up the rear. There are plenty of spots to pull over for everyone to catch up and also take pics. Plus there's some sections that are double laned.

I really want to go now. But I have a meeting Sunday from 7 to 10.
