Now the headlights look even worse by comparison :(

EDIT: This is what I want to do with the headlights:

Is KAD the same color as my car, gun metallic? Your pictures look a lot darker

I think when it contrasts with the pearl white it just looks a lot darker, I'm fairly certain it's the same.

Too expensive for this year, but definitely next year :D

I never realized it until I started looking around but it really changes the look of the whole front end on cars that are more subdued like the Z and GTR. It's amazing to me how just changing the headlights makes a world of difference, here are some examples:

http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6034/...b2cf4c21_b.jpg
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4.../370z/orb4.jpg
http://www.the370z.com/attachments/b...1-img_5200.jpg
http://i1154.photobucket.com/albums/...p/SANY2394.jpg

IMO the cars look infinitely more aggressive with the headlights redone.

Man that's pricey! Probably get what you pay for though. There are a few mods I'd like to do to my Z but the Mustang gets most of the funds for now. Getting ready to drop about $1500 on a much needed new top. Would much rather get a Motordyne exhaust.

So far this year I've done everything in my signature plus the Uprev tuner license, gen3's sitting in my living room, and tuning that's about to happen.. So I'm probably done for this year :D

Just curious if you ever thought about DIY on the headlights? I'm considering it but I'm scared I will ruin something... lol.

I'm sure I could do it but I'd much rather have the pro's do it than mess with it myself. I've done lights before but what I want is just more involved than I'm interested in tackling.

phantom370z 10-12-2014 03:13 PM

Almost done with my Gen3 install, did all the modifications that were necessary and relocated the horn... So far so good. :D

All in all there isn't that much cutting/modification that's really needed. Will throw a few pics up when it's done.

Since the install is done I'm selling my K&N drop-ins:

If someone here locally wants to grab them I'll go $75.

It was pretty simple and maybe took 10 minutes. The only issue I had is one I've seen on every car I've owned and removed the bumper to date, and that's the issue where the paint on the edge tab that pops in next to the fender gets a little scuffed because it's so thin at that point...but nothing to be concerned over as long as you're careful. You'd only ever notice it if you put your face down there in that corner/crack and looked at it. My OCD will probably force to me touch up that tab/corner just because, but it's really no big deal. :D

EDIT: Also, I should add that if you're looking for a hand doing anything of this sort I'm happy to help.

Cool, I appreciate the offer. I don't know that I'll do the CAI, not sure how much real difference it makes. If I do, it'll be on down the line.

Go with Gun metal BBS LMs. It's hard to beat some of the classics.

Na I went with Strasse R10 deep concave series. Chrome lip, painted to match centers (same as bottom skirts on the gtr) and gloss black inner barrels. 20x10 fronts and 20x11 rears. I also got the weight reduction included! Pics coming but they are made to order. Four weeks out as of now.

K&N Typhoon CAI for Sale

10K miles. Recently swapped to Stillen Gen 3. Running out of room in the spare freezer in my garage where I keep all of my parts. Hoping to benefit a local Z enthusiast. Filters cared for religiously. Let me know if you want pics. Excellent condition.

Been out of the game for a bit (work and being out of the country). Back and ready to roll.

Upstate Z Club is doing the fall drive this Saturday if anyone is interested.

From the facebook page:

Our Fall Drive is this Saturday 10/18. We will meet at Cracker Barrel at Exit 40 on I-85. This is the Powdersville Cracker Barrel, not Greenville or Anderson. We'll have breakfast at Cracker Barrel starting at 8:00 and leave somewhere between 9:00 and 10:00. Our destination is Saluda, NC via Easley, Dacusville, Marietta and the Greenville Water Shed. We'll have lunch in Saluda and then journey home.

Free 02 sensor for anyone local. It came off of a 2010 370z nismo. It is the upper 02 that goes into the stock exhaust manifold. I highly recommend some one picking this up if they plan on installing headers onto there Z. If no one takes it I will give it to the garbage man. Cost is at average for one sensor $300, or it was at the time I installed my headers.

What time is the drive today?

EDIT: Also, purely from a apples to apples comparison standpoint I'd love to do a few roll-on's to compare the gains since you're totally stock...seriously not a show off request.

HKYStormFront 10-18-2014 01:17 PM

Almost 20hp and over 20ft lbs gain, that's pretty good, my friend. I'd be interested to hear a full "impressions" review of MotionLab since you are the first person we know personally to go there.
