Not gonna go down that road again as of now. I really enjoyed off-roading in my toyota but ever since I went to atv's I can cover more ground and also go places I could never go before. A small amount of lift, and some 33inch tires will get you alot of places in a truck/jeep (and most people should stick to that). When I installed my air lockers it was a whole new animal. I went down alot of roads that I should not have in a truck/jeep. When locked up I usually had only two wheels on the ground, and the truck would fall hoping it would land on something soon. Open diffs will keep you safe. When your locked up its a long way to roll untill you hit a tree, if there is one to keep you from rolling all the way down the mountain. This being said I can bail off my atv, and I also dont have to camp in the designated camp sites.

I'll never say never again, but for now im gonna stick to the atv's. Final goal is to sell my Z and camaro in a year or two when the economy comes back and by a super car. After that I will probably buy a 4-door rubicon (if they still have a straight front axle) with a manual transmission and add a hand throttle for the hills, lol!!

VOLK TE37s with RE-11 and TPS
Full swap of H&R springs and suspension (we can do this at my house. It will only take 1 hour)
Rear camber arms
FI exhaust with 18" resignators and CF cans
Stillen Gen3s powder coated matte black (stealth look)
Headlight swap (housing painted MB and smoked reflectors)
Eibach Sway bars
UpRev tuner version (you will also get my map. Should cost you less to have it customized to your car.)
34 Row oil cooler with thermo plate
Car cover

These are all the big things. I'm sure I will think of others as they start coming off the car.

You think you can keep it until May 25th? One last run would be a great parting memory!!

Let me know if you want the springs. You can drive down and I will swap them out for you for free. I think the other stuff is spoken for.

IMWEZL 03-27-2013 08:35 PM

Kinda spectacular but today I saw three 370Z, one dark grey convertible, a sport grey, and a sport red leaving from the miller mote area to Rivers. Of course I just sat there in my Government vehicle Ford Focus like Pee Wee Herman when he lost his bike.

Can I bring mine over? I will pay you for your help, trouble, time. I was going to do it the other day but kinda wanted someone who has done it before to look over my shoulder

The only rule is you have to take your car home with you at the end of the day. You can ask Will what happened when he helped me change my springs at his house. :rofl2:

My_third_Z 03-28-2013 04:16 PM

I've been a big fan of this for awhile. Anyone want to form a team with me?

I don't mind helping out but it's more difficult than other cars I have done. Getting the front stock springs compressed takes an industrial spring compressor which I don't have. I have helped a few people install them on Zs and last time I pulled the struts out, then took them to a local shop to swap springs. The shop was horrible, ask mythirdz. If you can find a shop that will swap springs on the struts out of the car. I don't mind pulling them and helping you swap everything else.

:icon18: I just saw this. Yeah I won't be using Gerald's again.

370zGatorman 03-28-2013 07:24 PM

I'm driving down to Will's on Saturday to get his FI exhaust installed and can't wait! See Rooskey, told you at CIN I'd get that exhaust as soon as possible ;) Now I just need Rooskey's Nismo wheels and a long tube intake and I'll be content...for a little while.

The custom audio is already done now too so I'm running out of stuff to do to it. I installed the HPS maf tubes and K&N drop-in filters last weekend too and have BlueBat's front and rear vinyl covers sitting here ready to install someday. I'll post pics of the exhaust when I get back on Saturday.

IMWEZL 03-28-2013 07:40 PM

Lemons would have been awesome earlier in March. I'll be gone before the Sep event. My new assignment is back in Hawaii. Which means I will probably ship the car before the end of May.

Damn, hate to see you go. I'd love to get a team together to buy an old beater car and race it to death.

Neons are pretty cheap around here. DOHC/5spd if you can find one.

If you have to go, Hawaii can't be the worst place to assigned. We will all have to together before you go. I just may be driving something of the 4x4 variety. :tiphat:

hhhmmm This is tempting. Same kind of thing the Clemson Sports Car club does.

FireDan50 03-29-2013 09:49 AM

I'm from/born/raised in Hawaii....biggest downer I can see is that last time I checked there weren't any open tracks/circuits (drag or road) :(. We used to have Hawaii Raceway Park which wasn't the greatest but it provided a 1/4 mile strip, Autocross, and road track.

Rooskey 03-31-2013 11:42 PM

Hey Will if you end up getting a jeep lets get together this fall and go on a camping trip up in the jocassee gorges. There is a great spot to camp rite on the river and the off roading is pretty descent too. Let me know...

Rooskey 03-31-2013 11:44 PM

Anyone get a recall notice in the mail? I just received one for the electronic steering wheel lock. My Z is a 2010 model btw.

This is a common problem many people have had. Glad to hear they finally issued a recal on it. You definitely want to get it fixed otherwise you could be stranded.

ClemsonWill 04-01-2013 07:19 AM

Wheels and exhaust are sold. Other parts coming off slowly. Anyone have any interest in NST pulleys, Uprev Tuner kit with custom tune, Eibach Sway bars, Evo-R rear fog light, or H&R full supsension swap? Once this stuff is off the car, I will be posting it in the for sale thread but I prefer to sell locally.

370zGatorman 04-01-2013 08:52 AM

Thanks again for the exhaust Will :) I'll be taking pics soon and post them here. As far as the TSB yeah I scheduled my appointment for next Monday to have the steering wheel lock replaced.

Here we go! It's the Fast Intentions exhaust w/the 18" resonators and carbon fiber mufflers. This is loud enough for me that's for sure ;)

I have arrived in South Carolina. I picked her up from the Port in Charleston today. Still have the Belgium plates on the back. Now I just have to figure out how to get it registered here and get SC plates.

IMWEZL 04-03-2013 12:27 PM

Dan not trying to be a dcik but Good Luck! I had to show proof that Hawaii was a state and that my vehicle meet U.S. emissions standards. All that because I bought my Z in Hawaii then shipped it to Korea and then Charleston.

If you do get any trouble you might have to hit up the U.S. Customs in Downtown Charleston. The VPC shippers should have done this for me but they of course were clueless when I asked.

Enjoy SC! I have a few weeks left before I get my Z ready to ship to islands of island...**** I need that safety sticker plate!

Oh yeah how long did it take for Z to ship? I'm shipping two vehicles so I have to pay for the Z. Might as well let Uncle Sam cover the Durango.

Your car looks awesome! Love the canards, mirrors, wheels and CF front piece as well!
I'm in Columbia area but I'm down to meet up sometime. Let me know when you get settled in.

FireDan50 04-03-2013 05:07 PM

Hey bro, no problem :) I got everything taken care of today and got my SC plates on my car! Luckily I had EVERY paper (EPA, customs, declaration, registration, etc etc etc) that they wanted. It did take a while to get it done at the DMV though because they said they rarely do this sort of thing.

It took my Z about 40 days to get to Charleston from Belgium.

Had a pretty good get-together Saturday in cola. Wasn't z specific, but still enjoyed it. Several stis, R35s, a nice built c6, and one sick, murdered-out gallardo.

IMWEZL 04-07-2013 09:07 PM

Nice parts Will!

Found out last night about an Auto-X down in Hutchinson island/Savannah. Drove this morning and actually let my GF co-drive. She did good...killed half the clutch but did good. lol

FireDan50 04-08-2013 06:34 AM

Anyone in SC interested in buying a BRAND NEW GReddy Turbo Ti-C exhaust? This thing is still in the original box and never opened. I purchased it from Forged a month ago. Selling because my plans have changed for my build and I'm trying to close on purchasing a house now, so I'll just stick with the Akrapovic exhaust I have on now.

Because the box is so huge/heavy, prefer pick up in Sumter only for $1100 firm. I think this is a great bargain for anyone in the area. PM me if interested.
