Gathering at Z1 gives the guys an opportunity to purchase and have parts installed, get an oil change done if necessary, ask the techs different questions about their cars and those back roads are kinda fun too :driving:

While I won't have the availability to make it to Z1 once a month, those are great arguments to hold a "meet up" there.

Matt, you took some great pictures dude. Thanks for coming out all the way from Augusta. We hope the drive was worth your time and that you and your lady enjoyed the gathering. Hopefully, we'll see you at the next one.

I'll make another small thread for the Varsity meet up we had. It's only a couple pics, but I'll put them up anyway. I'll post the link here.

EDIT: Here you go: http://www.the370z.com/nissan-370z-p...-dyno-day.html

I had a bad experience on the drive home, bro. I was on I-20, about 40 miles from home, and a piece of my undercarriage came off and flew out the back of my car! I was SOOO scared. It appears to just have been the "cosmetic" small cover that "fills in" the dead space on the real lower engine cover/protector. Because of other cars (none of them were hit, thankfully, I had to double back on the interstate and look for the piece, but I couldn't find it.

I'm gonna talk to Z1 and see what they think.

John@Z1 07-04-2010 02:02 PM

Hey Matt, not sure what went on with that piece. But let me know tomorrow and we will take care of it. And yes sir you did the Z1 stretch like a champ. You all missed Jeremy's car lay it down. Also I would like to personally thank everyone for coming out. Hope to see you guys again soon.

Most of us missed the Chicane Yellow Z that showed up as I was leaving, too. Who was that?

To talk about the monthly meet, should we create a seperate thread or just direct everyone to the thread in the southeast group?

as for my thoughts, yeah z1 would be a great place to host them every time. But it is a haul for everyone. If we do a monthly meet in the same location each month my vote is z1. if its not at z1 i suggest we do not make it a meet at the same location each place. No other spot can offer us what z1 does. So if its going to be a varying location, then the activities will need to vary also.

Example:

Drive to Unicoi state park and have a bbq up there.
Andretti's
Heck someones house for a mod meet / whatnot.

But like meeting at the varsity each month, offers us a crowded parking lot, no room to work on anything and bad food.

James has a vote thread for which Sat is best on the S.E. Group area. There is also an active thread for location ideas! I like Z1 but also like variety!! Even if on occasion we head toward the guys that have to travel the most to get here!! (Giving them a mileage wear break on their cars)

as much as i appreciate Z1... i wouldn't do a monthly thing there simply because of driving distance. i think a central location would work better for a monthly thing for the majority of people, kinda like how the Varsity meet is every first thursday and the Cars&Coffee meet is every first sunday. at most i would do a Z1 meet every 3-4 months. how about a friday or saturday meet in the late afternoon/early evening for a monthly meet?

Kev created at GTG Idea Discussion Thread over a month ago and only 3 people commented. Whatever the majority decides works for me. However, we need for everyone to give us their input to do that. I'm not from Atlanta, so I only know certain areas. I'm always willing to gather and see some new places. A mileage break would be nice. Thanks for the idea Kev.

I want to say well met to all of the guys that I finally had the opportunity to put faces with the names. I would also like to say a VERY HEARTFELT THANK YOU to the guys at Z1 Motorsports for not only making me feel at home but for taking a lot of time out of their day to help me resolve a small issue. I cannot stress enough how appreciative I am for Spencer, Jon, John, Dustin, Russell, and the other guys at Z1.

As those of you were there during my dyno runs know, the HKS EVC6 had not been calibrated for GA yet and I was basically running spring pressure. After a quick call to Sam@GTM, we were pointed in the proper direction and the EVC was set to defaults and recalibrated. The result was exactly what we expected, 485whp and 420wtq. Sam has also informed me that he is sending a new map with a bit more aggressive tune. Next go around, 500whp will be broken at the same boost level. :)

I had a blast and again, a huge thank you to Z1 for hosting the event and taking such good care of me and my Zed. I truly look forward to seeing all of you again soon.

Jeremy, I'm happy everything was resolved. See you at the next gathering.

Raybuck,
Very nice pictures. You have a PM by the way! Also, thanks for bringing out the Genesis too. I have yet to be able to see one up close and check it out, very cool. Have you and Bryce lined those two up yet?

That we have not; him having 100+whp in a car that weighs the same would make my car look like it's parked hah. Maybe when my Genesis has an evo x twin scroll or gt30r, but that is going to take some time and $$.

Also my inbox does not show a PM, I guess try shooting me another.

Thanks for the great time at the dyno day! It was by far the most organized one I have been to.

Yeahhh, with a tune that'd put me at about 240-50whp and 290-310wtq. Not too bad, but not where you Z guys are at. One day I'll be in the 325-350whp & 300+wtq range. Just need some money haha.
