Glad to be part of this site. We sell sound deadening and thermal insulation for automobiles. Products to reduce unwanted road, engine and exhaust noise. To help generate some noise about our products (pun intended) we are going to do a give away. Probably 10 door packs of Damplifier Pro.. Keep an eye out in the next few days! ANT |
Welcome. I lined my hatch with some of your stuff.

Sweet! I subscribed to their publication, so, when my Z starts rattling, I can order the stuff. So far, so good, with my '04.5 Touring Coupe, though!

Ooh I'm interested in this, noise went way up since I put some carbon pieces on lol

You can expect to see the 370z package on the website very soon. Check back next week or so; Sound Deadening Materials for Noise Reduction from Second Skin ANT |
Will you be offering a 370Z kit? Otherwise, how many sheets/rolls would you recomment to do the hatch, floorpan, and doors? I plan on having a shop install my audio setup and am interested in doing sound deadening at the same time. Thanks.

Other considerations:
Weight capacity of the Z is 450 lbs which includes two people, cargo or combination thereof. 50-60 sq feet Damplifier Pro = 39 lbs* 5 Sheets (45 sq feet) Luxury Liner Pro = 54 lbs 2 Gallons Spectrum = 20.4 lbs Total: 113.4 lbs Total Z Capacity: 450 lbs SecondSkin: (113.4 lbs) Reduced Z weight capacity: 336.6 lbs *value used = 60 sq ft |
113 lbs? <shudder> Not in my car. I'll just pop some Van Halen into the CD player.
|
ya, I was slightly interested in deadening a little bit of the road noise, just so I can talk on my cellphone comfortably on speaker...but 100 pounds is way too much :(

I should preface this post by stating my intent was not to dissuade those considering sound dampening as a means of tailoring their Z to their tastes through the factory calculations of the 370Z's weight specs—a definitive statement. If the past holds true the Japanese are typically are very conservative (based upon my real-world experience). I appreciate that a forum vendor has taken the time to offer forum members a package. Obviously, SecondSkin is providing the ultimate package entailing a comprehensive solution to those who so desire.
My present question is whether Spectrum Sludge is better applied through an airless, and what PSI is deemed acceptable for said application? Thank you. |
