February '12 Porsche Photoshoots
well, it's a mad dash to the finish now. we've got 6 or so more cars to full shoot before the end of the month all while trying to shoot extra parts and work out some kind of group shot of them all together. this weekend we did a little of this and that, mostly focusing on finishing up the 917/30 (one of the most powerful race cars ever made) shots and getting a lot of the mclaren MP4/3 driven by Alain Prost in 1986 and '87. it's part of this collection because it has a TAG/Porsche TT 1.5L V6 which follows in with the rest of the collection being turbocharged porsche's. this thread will be updated weekly with new shots and the folder listed below will be the one link for the rest of the month as well. without further ado...
album (for the whole month): Porsche Photoshoots February '12 - JPMcG Photography fav's from this weekend: 1. both Lowenbrau 962's together, shot with plenty of room for text underneath in the book about the cars http://jpmcgphotography.smugmug.com/...IMG0313-XL.jpg 2. both from above, look for the subtle differences in the body http://jpmcgphotography.smugmug.com/...IMG0523-XL.jpg 3. 996 GT1 race car interior http://jpmcgphotography.smugmug.com/...IMG7434-XL.jpg 4. 996 GT1 front end http://jpmcgphotography.smugmug.com/...IMG7459-XL.jpg 5. Beautiful photos. Nice collection of Porsches as well.

Great photos... I've read so much about the 996 turbo using the GT1-derived engine, it's cool to see the car up close.

didn't have time to finish up last weekend's pictures before heading back last week to finish out the photo work. we've got everything wrapped up now, hopefully going to the auction in FL in a few weeks too! here's my fav's from weekend before last:
9. 962-103 with the tail off, it's all original so it doesn't look as good as HR1 http://jpmcgphotography.smugmug.com/...IMG7644-XL.jpg 10. 103's engine detail http://jpmcgphotography.smugmug.com/...IMG7672-XL.jpg 11. 103's interior, again, not as nice looking as HR1's, this is how it was when the car stopped racing http://jpmcgphotography.smugmug.com/...IMG7697-XL.jpg 12. the back of the 996 GT1 with the tail off, check out that pushrod suspension!! http://jpmcgphotography.smugmug.com/...IMG7777-XL.jpg 13. the McLaren MP4/3 with the body off http://jpmcgphotography.smugmug.com/...IMG7847-XL.jpg 14. crazy small cockpit http://jpmcgphotography.smugmug.com/...IMG7882-XL.jpg 15. this is 935 #001, capable of immense speed, it was tested with a quarter mile time of 8.9secs in 1975! http://jpmcgphotography.smugmug.com/...IMG8197-XL.jpg 16. and this is one of four original 911 turbo's ever, this is a Carrera 2.1 RSR, literally the beginning of turbocharged porsches http://jpmcgphotography.smugmug.com/...IMG8460-XL.jpg i've got lots more to go through this week wrapping up this whole thing. i'll post another 8 once they are all done! |
ok, i finally caught up, i have more pictures i could upload but the vast majority of them are done and in the folder for this month (again, original post, almost 450 shots this month!). grab a cup of your favorite drink, pop some popcorn and browse through the album when you have a few minutes, it's well worth it!
here's my last set of fav's from these photoshoots: 17. the Jagermeister 934 race car, meticulously restored top to bottom, this car is simply stunning http://jpmcgphotography.smugmug.com/...IMG8844-XL.jpg 18. with well over 500bhp, this 934 was the most successful in Group 4 racing in it's day http://jpmcgphotography.smugmug.com/...IMG8891-XL.jpg 19. 962-103, the most successful 962 ever http://jpmcgphotography.smugmug.com/...IMG8955-XL.jpg 20. fuel cell in the 996 GT1 accompanied by the fuel pumps behind and the JRZ reservoirs on top http://jpmcgphotography.smugmug.com/...IMG8985-XL.jpg 21. sunset on the 996 GT1, Porsche's 1997 entry in the 24 Hours of Le Mans http://jpmcgphotography.smugmug.com/...IMG9079-XL.jpg 22. the Jager 934's immaculate interior http://jpmcgphotography.smugmug.com/...IMG9164-XL.jpg 23. top down profile on the 917/30. some may note that the front is higher than last time, they had to lift it for transport http://jpmcgphotography.smugmug.com/...IMG9302-XL.jpg 24. three of the most famous (and significant) 930's in history, together (perhaps) for the last time... http://jpmcgphotography.smugmug.com/...IMG9483-XL.jpg as usual, C&C is welcome! please venture over to the album and look around, there's plenty more to see! |
