Great News!

Well I dropped out of the Art Institute because I'm waisting money, (Sad when you have to teach PS to the teachers) I have connections with major modeling agencies here.

Besides the point.

I'm 20 and I got asked by an internationally known photographer & retoucher of several books to come to a huge conference in NYC and be one of her assistances (approx 3-5 others), but I will be assisting her in a room of 50-60 individuals.

So I get to go to this conference for free and assist for a couple days, but also get to go to NYC for the first time.

nice! have fun! the guy who has mentored me in the past was the instructor at the local community college and i learned a lot from him but as for formal training, i've never heard much in the way of "good" schools

There are a lot of good art schools you can go to. Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the art institute accept any student that has money? I found that strange because most schools only accept students that have a good portfolio.

Make sure you network and sell your skills. This maybe the opportunity you need to get kick started.

Also, I will net work, this is an author of 5 photoshop books, I believe her and her co-worker designed the "300 Movie" that toning, it's called Sepiaesque toning, which I've used on some of my images!
